Perhaps this author should actually do some research before shooting her mouth off on things she is clearly ignorant on. A simple search of "benefits of NASA" sent me to the following site full of great scientific advances that help all of humanity:

http://www.thespaceplace.com/nasa/spinoffs.html

Solar Energy
Fire Resistant Materials
Breast Cancer Detection
Firemen Air Tanks
Better Car Brakes
Better School Bus Design

These are just a few I found in 3 minutes of cursory research. NASA is probably the best government program because it recognized early on that private business is more efficient than the bureaucracy of the government. Let's cut back our spending on freebies for those not paying taxes before we take away scientific advances for society.
Wow...another example of a Sox fan worrying more about the Cubs losing than how his own team is doing.
Part of the reason I'm sure is because he can't call it Comiskey anymore, and like a real Chicagoan, he doesn't want to call it Cellular One Field...
WHY ARE WE ALL YELLING?

There is nothing wrong with rooting for both teams from CHICAGO, Fornelli...
We always defend the athletes in these situations because we think, "well I wouldn't want to be pestered either". However, last time I checked, these guys are being paid millions to play a sport. Part of the responsibility of that job is to sign autographs and always be respectful to the fans, who are paying your salary.

Although I can definitely see why he blew up at that dingbat, it doesn't necessarily make it right.
EXACTLY, this station has been in HD since before the baseball season started, and we're nearly at the all-star break without having it on DirecTV. I'm hoping that they'll get it going now that DISH has it.
Yes, but when will they start broadcasting WGN Superstation in HD???

Chi-town fans everywhere are getting hosed on this deal. They have the channel, they're broadcasting it, so why doesn't DirecTV have it yet??? (Sorry, I'm tired of watching the Cubs in SD)
Perhaps the bowl games shouldn't all be home games for everyone against the Big Ten...then we might be able to evaluate two teams on a truly neutral site. I'm not saying that is the only reason, but the fact that the Big Ten is about .500 when over half of their bowl games are home games for the opposing team is pretty impressive in my book.

I don't know why people keep talking about the Rose Bowl like that proves anything. The Illini are an improving team that wasn't even ranked before beating OSU to end it's season. Then because everyone else choked they were tossed higher in the ranks to play a team that was brought down in the ranks by huge injuries. No one thought that was a good matchup to begin with, and weren't surprised with the results. A Georgia vs. USC and Hawaii vs. Illinois set of games would have yielded a great game and then another blowout since Hawaii sucks...but it still would have been better than these BCS matchups.

PLAYOFF!
that is a pretty cool project. When I was at Illinois we did something similar. I was one of the Mech E's on the project, but we also had troubles making it work with the funds...and it was also 5 years ago. I'd say you guys did a great job.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
