From the photos, it looks like they're off to a rocky start.
I wish Apple would make a robotic vacuum, but sadly it would be called the "iSuck". Ummm, no thanks.

The genius of the Roomba is that it doesn't need to map out the room in order to clean it, nor does it need 5000 H.P. suction. It hits every spot several times from different directions.

Sure you can load it full of sensors, but it adds cost and complexity. To hell with a display on the robot, just give it a BlueTooth chip and an iPhone app.
Many commenters (even those that claimed to have read the original article) missed that this occurred at a border-crossing, NOT an airport. Both require security, but have very different requirements.

Additionally, the Macbook owner said that she "had left it unattended, where they instructed". In other words, someone said "put that down and come with me" when someone else said "zomg unattended bag, pew pew pew".

A bullet did hit the battery (that's the white powder) but none penetrated the bottom half of the shell; impressive. The same kind of thing happened to a plastic laptop that did not fare quite as well:

I guess it goes without saying that metal is stronger than plastic. Still, both systems were equally dead!

I would love to see the video of her handing over that Macbook at the Genius Bar...
Is Chandra really from Land of the Lost? You decide:

1. Legacy support eventually dies. You can't leap forward while clinging to the past.
2. Snow Leopard's advancements are hardware-specific. There's no point in for PPC, which would benefit little if at all.
3. The advances will trickle-down. Application updates will work with PPC, like the new Safari.
4. Snow Leopard does not kill Leopard. Apple is still putting out updates to Tiger! It will be many years before Leopard goes "end of life".
@pczuneman: The HTML 3.0 spec really needs a /sarcasm tag.

The "epic fail" comments I made were in reference to the 2006 fears and doubts raised about the iPhone, but after 2 years of sales these features are not just non-scary but widely accepted.

I did mean to say "swappable" and not "replaceable" for the battery; if there's a battery door on the ZuneHD I don't see it clearly in the photos, and there was no mention of the battery in the press release. Everything has a replaceable battery if your toolbox is big enough (those aren't exactly phillips-slotted screws on the Zune).
I have Suggestions set to automatically record, so that I can gauge how much space I have left, based on the number of suggested recordings. It does not hurt anything to do this, since these recordings will always be deleted first to make room for Season Passes and will never take priority when recording.

And sometimes they even pick up something I like. :)
A touchscreen that will get all scratched up, or at least smeared so you can't see the image, no QWERTY keyboard, no replaceable battery? Wasn't that the 2006 definition of "Epic Fail"?
Great. Now M0nster Cab1e is going to sue Michael Bay.
"Vista Ready!"

"Windows 7 Ready!"

"WinXP...Ready?"
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
