I am a COH convert myself and I sympathize with your struggles. The look and feel is reminiscent of COH but realistically, it should feel/look different. It has taken me months to get used to it after being a total COH loyalist for many years. The item system is convoluted and I'm still getting the hang of it but, I think that actually gives the system legs. I've stated this before but I'll say it again, this game really doesn't take off until you hit lvl 25. That's when you create your Nemesis and shortly after that you get to touch Monster Island. I TRULY believe that new content for level 25 up should be made (instead of 18-21 as the devs planned) and the Nemesis/Monster Island content should be scaled DOWN to around 15 or 20. This content should be right up front. I truly believe that players will latch on faster if this great content and Nemesis system are showcased A LOT sooner in the game.

Mulling around Canada and the Desert go beyond long-in-the-tooth. They really add to the grind and there were points at about 18 and then 21-22 that I was ready to go back to COH immediately. I stuck it out and I'm happy I did.

And - oh yeah, fix melee and make Tanks, Tank.
Just hit lvl 25 with my main toon on Champions. I, like many others had issue with content...until last night. The Nemesis system is pretty friggin insane the more I think about it. I really enjoyed designing the character and the integration of my design was pretty cool (FemBot with a broken heart whose 'gotta Love Jones for my body and my skin tone'). The Nemesis point system will keep me playing, some of the rewards are just plain incredible. Inconsistencies still occur with mission story lines and the Blood Moon event has grown stale, end it already - bring on the 50 foot Turkeys.

Heraclea - I agree with you on the character power balance, my play style is tuned for Tanking but the melee (melee across the board really) is BUSTED. Hear me Cryptic - FIX MELEE! You can't have a hero-themed game and fumble the melee, it's like professional wrestling without the midgets.

I took advantage of the free Retcon and re-rolled my character with eldrich, dark and primal sorcery. So...why so much difference???? The damage is amazing, I don't grind as hard with my freshly Ret'ed toon and I look forward to advancing. When my toon was a melee tank, seriously - I was VERY close to returning to City of Heroes. That MMO is a tank's paradise. Cryptic: log into your COH account (you have several) and study the Tank. Copy the mechanics, PLLLLLEEEEASE!

One last piece to my rant, Acrobatics should not be a travel power, it should be in every framework and it should scale while you level just like all the other powers. I spent more time traveling with Acro than battling. Now that I have flight, the game has opened up.

Time to make it shine, boys.
I need to be able to skip the tutorial when I create a new character. I've played the tutorial 3 times already during the closed beta, open beta and then in full production. I would play this game A LOT more if I didn't have to play that damn tutorial over and over and over.
Just started playing the open beta last night. Got through the tutorial zone which was informative but also tedious (the boss fight at the end was cinematic and not too hard - nice job). Heading to Canada tonight after a stop at the Powerhouse for my travel powers....I think I'm sold on the Rocket boots...yah.

I am a long time COH player and I had a feeling about this game. There are so many of those comfortable similarities, from the character customization to the addition of the 'Paragon' control scheme - they really did a great job of balancing the COH players with the new players and adding more action and more of everything we love about becoming a Superhero.

Please play this yourself and when you're tired, your eyes are bleeding and you still want more - you realize, 'I am the closest I have ever been, to being inside a comic."
Wow, you really know how to name drop. And while I haven't heard your tracks yet, your MPC is the most inexpensive ever built (high end?). And Ableton Live! is a great DJ tool (robust? for who, DJ SuperFresh?). Aside from this, the most expensive piece in my rig is the monitors (no name drop necessary). If you can't hear what you're mixing, the most expensive hardware in the world will sound like butt. While it's debatable that you can successfully mix with earphones it's not a good idea. Hearing loss would be almost the worse thing that could happen you.

Keep it movin.
2002 Passat - no problems and if there are I'll take her in - go dump on the American Cars, they really do suck.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
