Yeah, it is MUCH worse. I just can't believe that even after all these years, we can't get Tivo HD or Windows Media Center to work as they're meant to without having to jump through hoops. Is it really too much to ask?
The asking price is in line with the price they asked for the PT-AE3000 last year. And if u compare the Panny to the Sanyo projector, you'll see there's a significant difference in quality. I'm not sure about the Epson, but they've had their issues too (especially with frame interpolation). If u read the reviews on the PT-AE3000, they've pretty much been unanimously glowing. I'd expect the 4000 to be equal to the task, but a price drop would be nice.
ya, what's the deal with lagging behind and not putting out 7.1 soundtracks? with Audyssey and Dolby pushing for even more speakers (not that I'm convinced it's worth it), i would think that a 7.1 soundtrack could be easily implemented into a blu-ray. c'mon, max out those discs!!
I believe Baraka is considered THE current reference quality standard for video:

That's not to say that your buddies are going to want to watch a documentary, but for pure visuals, it's the way to go IMHO. As for audio, I'm not sure...

Ya, if TiVo could record satellite HD signals, I'm sure they'd have much better results. Since they're getting back together with DirecTV in the U.S., they should be able to work something out with Bell (or StarChoice if you swing that way).
The more competition, the better. When you compare what Canadians pay versus our good neighbours to the south (as well as many others around the world), it's painfully obvious we need more competition. And since Ted Rogers is bitching loudly about the sprectrum auction, it MUST be a good thing!
bring the iphone to canada!
Ya, what about Canada??? Those rat bastards at Rogers keep screwing us! They won't give out any information and still charge an arm and a leg and a left testicle for their data plans.

"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
