<div align="left">This is it! We just received video of the only pico projector endorsed by Russell Crowe (if by "endorsed" you mean "absolutely not endorsed," and by "Russell Crowe" you mean "<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/10/aiptek-pocket-cinema-v10-available-for-pre-order-on-amazon/">the poor target of our Photoshoppery</a>"). For a handheld VGA projector, the thing seems to handle itself pretty well. It's small and simple to use, but then again it doesn't really seem all that bright (something you might notice if you ever need it to, we don't know, "project" something). This bad boy has 1GB internal memory, an SD slot, and miniUSB, which should handle most of your I/O needs. Be sure to check out the explosive videos -- generously provided by <a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fes.engadget.com%2F2009%2F01%2F12%2Faiptek-pocketcinema-v10-en-video-ces-2009%2F&amp;sl=es&amp;tl=en&amp;history_state0=">Engadget Spanish</a> -- after the break.<br /></div>

Looks like Sony Insider caught some footage of those <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/sonys-flexible-oled-mockups/">flexible OLED Walkmans</a> in action during a CES promo video hidden away in the booth. Looks like a pretty sweet riff on the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/13/sonys-nwz-1000-walkman-pmp-handled-on-video/">Cover Flow-esque interface</a> that's due to arrive on the <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/nwz-x1000">NWZ-X1000</a>, but there's not much else to go on -- let's hope Sony's spending more time getting the X1000 ready to leave that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/sony-oled-walkman-nwz-x1000-eyes-on/">impenetrable glass housing</a> than it is mocking up videos of fantasy tech. While unpacking we found this clip (after the break) and these images of Hitachi's latest <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/25/hitachi-makes-like-toshiba-and-touts-super-resolution-technolog/">entry</a> into the Super Resolution arena and figured you might want a look at this attempt to make all things SD into high definition. At least so far, Toshiba has <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/18/toshibas-46xv545u-lcd-hdtv-reviewed-internal-upscaling-is-a-jo/">not impressed </a>many with its approach, we'll see if <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Hitachi/">Hitachi</a> has different luck.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/">Hitachi Super Resolution Upconversion TV</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/#1286724"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/cespics07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/#1286723"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/cespics06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/#1286722"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/cespics05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/#1286721"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/cespics04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hitachi-super-resolution-upconversion-tv/#1286720"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/cespics03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/eyes-on-with-hitachi-super-resolution-tv/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Eyes-on with Hitachi Super Resolution TV</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hitachi/" rel="tag">Hitachi</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/12/eyes-on-with-hitachi-super-resolution-tv/">Eyes-on with Hitachi Super Resolution TV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 12 Jan 2009 19:17:00 EST. We may not have covered too many products in the North Hall at this year's CES, a mecca for vehicle customizers and their wares, but that's mainly because we have a hard time keeping up with the latest in LED and hydraulic technologies as applied to motorized pursuits. But, there were a few sweet rides scattered about, and while we can't say we'd necessarily allow ourselves to be seen in most of them, there was at least <span style="font-style: italic;">one</span> intelligently modded muscle car in particular that we just couldn't resist capturing some video of. We think you'll recognize it below. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/north-hall-tour/">North Hall Tour</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/north-hall-tour/#1278991"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/north-hall-066_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/north-hall-tour/#1278957"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/north-hall-003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/north-hall-tour/#1278969"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/north-hall-006_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/north-hall-tour/#1278976"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/north-hall-009_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/north-hall-tour/#1278968"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/north-hall-010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/11/ces-2009-north-hall-tour-like-hot-import-nights-minus-the-tire/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>CES 2009 North Hall tour: like Hot Import Nights minus the tire smoke</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ces/" rel="tag">CES</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gadgets/" rel="tag">Misc. It looks like ASUS is about to carve out another unexpected niche for itself with its Eee Top all-in-one PC. The 15.6-inch touchscreen coupled with ASUS' touch-friendly user interface (riding an XP / Atom N270 underpinning) and industrial design definitely looked and felt like a winner. Sure, the UI could use some more polish, and the occasional menu pull-out was positioned too close to the bezel's edge for easy touching. But we could easily see an Eee Top making its way into our lair as a secondary PC when it begins shipping Stateside in "a few weeks" -- especially for a $599 MSRP.<br />

We know a lot of you have been curious to see what's going on inside Engadget's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/05/engadgets-new-double-wide-hq-rolls-in-to-vegas/">sweet doublewide CES trailer</a>, but we were so busy covering the news this week we just didn't have time to give anyone a peek until now. Hit the break for a quick video tour, and check out the gallery for a random assortment of snaps from this crazy week -- including a couple of our insane gear collection.<br /><br />[Special thanks to <a href="http://revision3.com/tekzilla/">Tekzilla's</a> Veronica Belmont and the crew at <a href="http://www.myvu.com/">Myvu</a>!]<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/engadget-ces-trailer-tour-1/">Engadget CES Trailer Tour!</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/engadget-ces-trailer-tour-1/#1279427"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/3185537105_b76b8530fc_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/engadget-ces-trailer-tour-1/#1279428"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/3182624727_b9e26e36fd_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/engadget-ces-trailer-tour-1/#1279429"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/3182625463_c3106f3f48_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/engadget-ces-trailer-tour-1/#1279430"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/3186379716_9c5726485a_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/engadget-ces-trailer-tour-1/#1279431"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/3182625253_9eb49dbb75_b_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/11/video-engadget-ces-trailer-tour/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: Engadget CES trailer tour!</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gadgets/" rel="tag">Misc. Multi-touch is where it's at, but what if you already have one of those lame, obsolete, big-screen, flat-panel displays that accept only smudges from your fingers? What you need is a Multi-Touch G2 from PQLabs, an overlay that attaches to your existing 32-inch (or larger) set with double-sided tape, adding the multi-touch sensitivity that your fingertips have been yearning for. The company has also announced its upcoming iTable, effectively a multi-touch panel with a built-in computer, having something in common with Microsoft's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/surface">Surface</a>, but nothing with Apple's iPhone (from which it dishearteningly takes a naming cue). We spent a few minutes with our fingers stroking both the iTable and the Multi-Touch G2 and were impressed by both; they initially seemed a bit unresponsive but, within a few seconds, we were browsing media, building grunts, and decimating forests in no time. Playing an RTS like <em>Warcraft 3</em> with gestures is a fantastic experience no strategy gamer should miss, but, at $2,399, is one that only the richest of tacticians can put in their buy queue. No pricing for the iTable just yet, but expect it to be more.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/video-pqlabs-itable-digits-on-lets-us-touch-orcs-movies-me-to/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: PQLabs iTable digits-on lets us touch orcs, movies, me-too branding</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ces/" rel="tag">CES</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/desktops/" rel="tag">Desktops</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gaming/" rel="tag">Gaming</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hdtv/" rel="tag">HDTV</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/video-pqlabs-itable-digits-on-lets-us-touch-orcs-movies-me-to/">Video: PQLabs iTable digits-on lets us touch orcs, movies, me-too branding</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 10 Jan 2009 20:18:00 EST. Not content with perusing the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/nvidia-geforce-3dvision-gets-reviewed/">online reviews</a>, we stopped by Nvidia to get some first-hand (or first-eye, rather) experience with GeForce 3D Vision eye wear. The glasses are lightweight and could still be worn comfortably over our thick-rimmed specs. We first tried <em>Tomb Raider: Underworld</em> to largely mediocre results, but <em>Mirror's Edge </em>and <em>Left 4 Dead </em>really shined. When we took a step back to watch two screens, however, they couldn't decide which display to sync up with and the flickering lenses managed to numb our brain. A surprisingly good experience, sure, but we can't imagine paying upwards of four benjamins for these and a compatible monitor. If you're wondering what the screen looks like without the eye wear, check out the video after the break.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nvidia-geforce-3dvision-eyes-on-at-ces-2009/">Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision eyes-on at CES 2009</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nvidia-geforce-3dvision-eyes-on-at-ces-2009/#1276236"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/dscf8301-ces-geforce3d-glasses_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nvidia-geforce-3dvision-eyes-on-at-ces-2009/#1276237"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/dscf8314-ces-geforce3d-glasses_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nvidia-geforce-3dvision-eyes-on-at-ces-2009/#1276238"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/dscf8318-ces-geforce3d-glasses_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nvidia-geforce-3dvision-eyes-on-at-ces-2009/#1276239"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/dscf8323-ces-geforce3d-glasses_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/nvidia-geforce-3dvision-eyes-on-at-ces-2009/#1276240"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/dscf8327-ces-geforce3d-glasses_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/video-nvidia-geforce-3d-vision-eyes-on/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision eyes-on</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/peripherals/" rel="tag">Peripherals</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/wearables/" rel="tag">Wearables</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/video-nvidia-geforce-3d-vision-eyes-on/">Video: Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision eyes-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 10 Jan 2009 19:13:00 EST. It's been <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/20/intel-shows-off-next-gen-convertible-classmate-pc/">five months</a> since we first heard about the convertible Classmate PC, and now we've finally gotten a chance to get our hands on it at the Intel booth. It feels pretty durable -- especially that <em>kind of</em> important display swivel -- but we take issue with how lopsided the weight is towards the back. The Quick Launcher Windows XP shell lives up to the name and is indeed very fast and easy to navigate. When we rotated the tablet on its side, however, the interface awkwardly fills in only the top half. According to the rep, there's no US distributor yet for retail. Glamor shots in the gallery, or check out video after the break. Is it too much to ask for capacitive multitouch next time?<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/intels-convertible-classmate-pc-hands-on-at-ces-2009/">Intel's convertible Classmate PC hands-on at CES 2009</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/intels-convertible-classmate-pc-hands-on-at-ces-2009/#1274037"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/dscf8239-ces-rm-classmate-tablet_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/intels-convertible-classmate-pc-hands-on-at-ces-2009/#1274036"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/dscf8218-ces-rm-classmate-tablet_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/intels-convertible-classmate-pc-hands-on-at-ces-2009/#1274035"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/dscf8198-ces-rm-classmate-tablet_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/intels-convertible-classmate-pc-hands-on-at-ces-2009/#1274034"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/aimg_0303-ces-rm-classmate-tablet_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/intels-convertible-classmate-pc-hands-on-at-ces-2009/#1274033"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/dscf8255-ces-rm-classmate-tablet_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/video-intels-convertible-classmate-pc-hands-on/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: Intel's convertible Classmate PC hands-on</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ces/" rel="tag">CES</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/tabletpcs/" rel="tag">Tablet PCs</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/video-intels-convertible-classmate-pc-hands-on/">Video: Intel's convertible Classmate PC hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 10 Jan 2009 18:11:00 EST. <div align="left">We'll be honest -- we're totally in love with Gibson's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/11/gibson-kicks-out-the-dark-fire-second-gen-robot-guitar/">Dark Fire guitar</a>. The $3,499 update to the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/11/video-hands-on-with-gibsons-robot-guitar/">Robot guitar</a> we played with at CES last year is lighter, faster, easier to use and features new Chameleon Tone technology that actually reconfigures the individual pickups to deliver different sounds. The FireWire / MIDI breakout box enables you to record directly to a computer, but you can also tweak presets and control the guitar from the included Ableton Live / Guitar Rig bundle. It's seriously hot -- and it's even hotter when it's being demoed by German inventor Chris Adams, who might be the single coolest dude at CES. ASUS was kind enough to take its beautiful AIRO laptop out from behind the glass at CES for an Engadget exclusive look at the functional sliding mechanism. The design raises the keyboard to cool the hot running components beneath allowing for a fan-less, convection-cooled design. Unfortunately, this prototype is just a chipset-less mechanical shell. Raise the lid and the keyboard slides back smoother than a greased-up Pete Rose. This allows for a larger, more comfortable wrist rest from which to slap those angled keys. Sexy? Oh yeah, with mojo to spare. Check the video after the break.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-airo-prototype/">ASUS AIRO prototype</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-airo-prototype/#1276289"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/asus0airo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-airo-prototype/#1276292"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/asus10airo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-airo-prototype/#1276296"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/asus11airo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-airo-prototype/#1276298"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/asus12airo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-airo-prototype/#1276294"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/asus13airo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/video-asus-airo-laptop-with-amazing-sliding-keyboard/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: ASUS AIRO laptop with amazing sliding keyboard</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/video-asus-airo-laptop-with-amazing-sliding-keyboard/">Video: ASUS AIRO laptop with amazing sliding keyboard</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 10 Jan 2009 16:53:00 EST. Microsoft's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/sync">Sync</a> hasn't exactly taken the automotive world by storm, but the updates coming to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/sync-adds-turn-by-turn-traffic-reports-for-some-2010-fords/">2010 Fords</a> seem like they could earn the service a little respect. Microsoft has added a suite of new services including voice-driven news, traffic info, and directions. We got a quick demonstration inside a shiny new Ford Escape, which kindly provided us with directions to the world's 35th-largest hydroelectric dam (you can find your way to the video below). We also got some further details on how the service uses Bluetooth to tether to any handset, downloading content using a voice call so that you can use this completely fee-free -- even if you don't have a data plan. Yes the display is simplistic to say the least, but having access to this kind of functionality without recurring monthly charges (for three years, at least) sounds fantastic to us. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ford-sync/">Ford Sync</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ford-sync/#1274401"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/microsoft-sync-escape-09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Ford Sync" title="Ford Sync" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ford-sync/#1274400"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/microsoft-sync-escape-06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Ford Sync" title="Ford Sync" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ford-sync/#1274399"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/microsoft-sync-escape-10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Ford Sync" title="Ford Sync" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ford-sync/#1274398"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/microsoft-sync-escape-07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Ford Sync" title="Ford Sync" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ford-sync/#1274397"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/microsoft-sync-escape-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="Ford Sync" title="Ford Sync" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/microsofts-new-sync-hands-eyes-and-ears-on/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: Microsoft's new Sync hands, eyes, and ears on</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ces/" rel="tag">CES</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/transportation/" rel="tag">Transportation</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/microsofts-new-sync-hands-eyes-and-ears-on/">Video: Microsoft's new Sync hands, eyes, and ears on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 10 Jan 2009 06:58:00 EST. Somehow we missed the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/asus-eee-d200-with-touchscreen-display-sneaks-out-in-taiwan/">Eee D200</a> when we first visited the ASUS booth. A return this morning confirms our suspicions that this strange looking device is nothing more than a NAS media server with a touch screen. Remote administration is available, as well as four USB and four Ethernet ports. Don't miss the pictures in our gallery and the video posted after the break.<br />

<div align="left">The OLED Association and Samsung gifted us with a quick view of a foldable OLED display attached to a giant and very make believe Samsung phone. We saw the same back in <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/11/24/samsung-concept-phone-unfolds-to-hypnotize-onlookers-with-flexib/">November</a>, but this time we got up close and filmed it ourselves. We're sure this mockup in no way reflects any future handset design from Samsung, but it lets us dream of a day with giant foldable displays, and those will be great days. Follow on for a vid of it folding and unfolding and a mini gallery, too.</div>

Gamers have largely gotten a bad rep for being lazy, slothful people who spend their hours mindlessly pressing buttons. The Wii changed that a bit by getting kids (and their parents... and <em>their</em> parents) up off the couch, but what about giving their brains a workout too? For your family's little mind freak to-be Mattel is introducing the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/mind+flex/">Mindflex</a>, a brain-powered game that relies on your mental activity to control the height of a ball suspended in a column of air. Don the headset then start concentrating to make the purple orb rise; relax and it lowers. There are six total game types but all entail getting a ball over, under, and through a variety of hoops and the like, sometimes against a clock so that you can challenge your friends. Sadly you have to actually reach up and turn the dial to move the ball around the course, but in our heads on trial we found the thing to be impressively responsive, gently sinking down when we thought about getting some sleep -- then shooting back up again when we pondered the number of posts left to write tonight. It was challenging for sure, and definitely turned a lot of heads, but we're a little concerned that extended sessions could be headache inducing. Its $80 price tag might cause some temple pain too when the thing releases this fall, but we've certainly spent more money on things that were less fun -- and mentally stimulating. Video of floaty balls and squinting players below.<br />

It was just a short year ago that we went to Fulton Innovation's tiny booth at CES and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/09/video-ecoupled-not-demoing-its-wireless-power-system/">failed to get a working wireless </a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/09/video-ecoupled-not-demoing-its-wireless-power-system/">power demo</a>, but a lot's happened since then -- the company is at CES 2009 in force, with a much larger, swanker booth, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/19/wireless-power-consortium-to-create-universal-wireless-charging/">partners like Energizer and Motorola</a> demoing working products, and tons of working real-world examples of the tech in action. We were particularly taken with the modded Dish DVR that automatically turned itself on and off when the remote was placed on top of it to charge up -- oh, and the remote featured super-capacitors instead of batteries that charge fully in 10 seconds. There were also a ton of cell phones (including a modded iPhone, of course), <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/07/video-ecoupled-fires-up-its-wireless-foreman-grill-and-cooks-us/">new cooking demos</a> featuring a blender, and a super cool Leggett &amp; Pratt power tool charging workbench. Extremely impressive, all in all -- we're starting to think that 2009 could be the year that wireless power could really take off. Gallery below, video after the break!<br /><br />P.S.- We asked if Fulton had anything to do with the Palm Pre's sexy <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/palm-pres-wireless-charger/">Touchstone wireless charger</a>, but the guys in the booth didn't know. We'll let you know if we find anything out.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fulton-innovation-wireless-power/">Fulton Innovation Wireless Power</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fulton-innovation-wireless-power/#1270404"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/ces-fulton-charging-41_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fulton-innovation-wireless-power/#1270403"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/ces-fulton-charging-37_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fulton-innovation-wireless-power/#1270402"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/ces-fulton-charging-22_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fulton-innovation-wireless-power/#1270401"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/ces-fulton-charging-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/fulton-innovation-wireless-power/#1270400"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/ces-fulton-charging-9_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/fulton-innovation-has-a-wireless-power-coming-out-party-at-ces/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fulton Innovation has a wireless power coming out party at CES</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gadgets/" rel="tag">Misc. It was at last year's CES that we first got our hands on iRobot's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/looj">Looj</a>, and while easy gutter cleaning is something most homeowners can appreciate, the thing did have some issues that left many users tossing the things out with the decomposing crud it was supposed to fling. Enter the Looj second generation, which includes a flexible auger that should keep the thing from flipping itself over, a tool-free battery door, and a faster reverse speed to get the thing back to your ladder in half the time. Nothing revolutionary, but some much-needed updates that will be available this spring for $129, and we were impressed with the sheer spite the thing displayed against a mock gutter full of faux leaves. Video below -- user discretion advised. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/irobot-looj-1/">iRobot Looj</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/irobot-looj-1/#1270341"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/irobot-looj-12_thumbnail.jpg" alt="iRobot Looj Second Generation" title="iRobot Looj Second Generation" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/irobot-looj-1/#1270340"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/irobot-looj-06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="iRobot Looj Second Generation" title="iRobot Looj Second Generation" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/irobot-looj-1/#1270339"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/irobot-looj-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="iRobot Looj Second Generation" title="iRobot Looj Second Generation" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/irobot-looj-1/#1270338"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/irobot-looj-14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="iRobot Looj Second Generation" title="iRobot Looj Second Generation" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/irobot-looj-1/#1270337"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/irobot-looj-13_thumbnail.jpg" alt="iRobot Looj Second Generation" title="iRobot Looj Second Generation" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/video-irobot-looj-hands-on-shows-improved-leaf-carnage/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: iRobot Looj hands on shows improved leaf carnage</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ces/" rel="tag">CES</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/household/" rel="tag">Household</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/video-irobot-looj-hands-on-shows-improved-leaf-carnage/">Video: iRobot Looj hands on shows improved leaf carnage</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 08 Jan 2009 22:16:00 EST. So we dropped by LG's booth here in the South Hall at CES and weren't really surprised to see a whole bunch of watch phones in a case that looked like it was just moved out of Jacob &amp; Co. There was a surplus of models dolled up behind glass, but only two out on the floor. LG was being super secretive about the transitions between the various screens, but we did our best to sneak peeks through the fingers on our not-so-generous demonstrator's hand. What we did see looked pretty polished though (<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/07/lg-shows-off-gd910-watch-phone-production-later-this-year/">which you should know by now</a>) and the transitions looked like browsing music on the iPhone. We were able to find out that the screen is <em>not</em> an OLED. LG went with a TFT with capacitive touch but we were told that it would work through a golf glove -- though we're not exactly sure about this. Be sure to check out the gallery for even more glamor shots and check after the break for video of the device (or the parts that LG would let us see) and prepare to be amazed. Ooh, shiny.<br />

As <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/06/wrist-worn-flexible-oled-prototype-is-for-the-military-but-kids/">promised</a>, Universal Display Corporation had its 4-inch, flexible, wrist-worn OLED display designed for military use (and nerds) here at CES. Master Chief would be proud. Like the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/01/08/hands-on-with-t-mobiles-blackberry-curve-8900/">Curve 8900</a>, it turns out that Motorola's SURF is a device that kinda needs to be seen in the flesh to be fully appreciated. In light of <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/TouchFLO/">TouchFLO</a> and its endless competitors, the skin Moto's developed for this thing -- while tasteful and seemingly finger-friendly -- really isn't anything to get terribly excited about, but it does an adequate job of making the superficial surface of Windows Mobile reasonably finger-friendly. The screen feels great, and yeah, the SURF includes a stylus -- but hey, what WinMo phone doesn't? Ultimately, we think it's going to be a totally serviceable alternative to, say, a Touch Diamond -- only problem is that the Touch Diamond is like 8 months old. If Moto had launched this running Android instead of WinMo, on the other hand, it would've been the runaway hit of the show. Follow the break for a super-quick video tour of the UI!<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorola-surf-a3100-video-and-pictorial-hands-on-1/">Motorola SURF A3100 video (and pictorial) hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorola-surf-a3100-video-and-pictorial-hands-on-1/#1266727"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/motorola-a3100-hands-on-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorola-surf-a3100-video-and-pictorial-hands-on-1/#1266726"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/motorola-a3100-hands-on-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorola-surf-a3100-video-and-pictorial-hands-on-1/#1266725"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/motorola-a3100-hands-on-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorola-surf-a3100-video-and-pictorial-hands-on-1/#1266724"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/motorola-a3100-hands-on-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/motorola-surf-a3100-video-and-pictorial-hands-on-1/#1266723"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/motorola-a3100-hands-on-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/motorola-surf-a3100-video-and-pictorial-hands-on/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Motorola SURF A3100 video (and pictorial) hands-on</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ces/" rel="tag">CES</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/motorola-surf-a3100-video-and-pictorial-hands-on/">Motorola SURF A3100 video (and pictorial) hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 08 Jan 2009 04:35:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">LG's wrist set was on hand at the LG press conference and we managed a quick peek. We'll fill in all the blanks tomorrow once we can see it up close, but as a teaser, this thing looks sweet. It does, however, look a wee bit more refined in the interface and design departments compared to the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/06/video-lg-watch-phone-hands-on/">peek we got last year</a>. As of today, CES 2009 is all ASUS' show. We're impressed with both the hardware on display as well as the custom UIs they've developed to take advantage of their new touchscreen displays while waiting for Windows 7 to arrive. In a nod to the future (the very distant future), ASUS leaves us with a conceptual bow inspired by folded Origami... and Battleship, apparently. Check the video after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/07/video-asus-teases-with-folding-origami-laptop-concept/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: ASUS teases with folding Origami laptop concept</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/07/video-asus-teases-with-folding-origami-laptop-concept/">Video: ASUS teases with folding Origami laptop concept</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 07 Jan 2009 02:19:00 EST. We've seen so much of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/05/lenovos-thinkpad-w700ds-now-really-official-starts-at-3-663/">Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds</a> already that our first time getting hands on the machine felt strangely familiar. The slide-out screen felt sturdy, and it's capable of swiveling 30 degrees forward and any steps in between. The tablet isn't going to replace a Wacom anytime soon, but it'll get the job done in a pinch. The laptop itself is rather bulky, but what do you expect when you're packing this much power? Check out the gallery below for pics.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ces-2009-hands-on-with-lenovo-thinkpad-w700ds/">CES 2009: Hands on with Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ces-2009-hands-on-with-lenovo-thinkpad-w700ds/#1261898"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/rmlenovo07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ces-2009-hands-on-with-lenovo-thinkpad-w700ds/#1261897"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/rmlenovo08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ces-2009-hands-on-with-lenovo-thinkpad-w700ds/#1261896"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/rmlenovo14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ces-2009-hands-on-with-lenovo-thinkpad-w700ds/#1261895"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/rmlenovo09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/ces-2009-hands-on-with-lenovo-thinkpad-w700ds/#1261894"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/rmlenovo10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Update:</span> Added video after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/06/ces-2009-hands-on-with-lenovo-thinkpad-w700ds/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds hands-on</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ces/" rel="tag">CES</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/06/ces-2009-hands-on-with-lenovo-thinkpad-w700ds/">Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 06 Jan 2009 21:31:00 EST. What's 1 primary laptop plus 1 secondary, smaller computer equal? Want, that's what. ASUS just showed us a modified <strike><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/22/asus-g50-g71-laptops-and-ares-cg6155-gaming-pc-now-available/">G50</a></strike> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/m50">M50</a> media laptop with a secondary 4.3 LCD <strike>display</strike> computer with some help from Microsoft here at ASUS' CES presser. Microsoft actually calls it "two computers in one chassis" running independently from each other but sharing a common battery. The smaller computer will run for over 12 hours for all your widgeting (contacts, email, etc) needs -- alas, it does not appear to be removable. Funny thing is, not a single mention by Microsoft about <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/sideshow">SideShow</a>. Check the video after the break, it's compelling and nerd sexy to see a movie launch from the small, second computer onto the larger display.<br /><br /><strong>Update</strong>: We spoke to ASUS and learned that this prototype is planned for production this year. A version featuring a removable, secondary computer (think MID) is a possible followup.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/06/asus-features-modded-g50-with-4-3-inch-secondary-computer-oh-my/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: ASUS features modded G50 with 4.3-inch secondary computer, oh my</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/06/asus-features-modded-g50-with-4-3-inch-secondary-computer-oh-my/">Video: ASUS features modded G50 with 4.3-inch secondary computer, oh my</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 06 Jan 2009 20:31:00 EST. It's been <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/21/asus-ceo-touchscreen-eee-pcs-and-windows-7-in-mid-2009-250-mo/">expected for months</a>, now Asus has announced its Eee PC T91 convertible tablet ripe for a fresh Windows 7 tossing. The 2-pound (right, two!), 1-inch thick tablet features an 8.9-inch LED backlit touch panel riding atop Intel's Z520 Atom processor. It also features a TV-tuner and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/26/official-asus-8-9-inch-eee-pc-will-include-touchscreen-possibl/">built-in GPS</a>. No other details yet but it won't be long.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Update</span>: Added video after the break of this svelte convertible floating in air with its incredibly dreamy UI. It's destined to make all your touchable dreams come true.
