<p>
	If you like your tablets of the Samsung persuasion, AT&amp;T has just promised an abundance of riches. The carrier has confirmed that both the Android-toting <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/28/atandt-4g-lte-adds-galaxy-note-2-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-galaxy-express/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Tab 2 10.1</a> and the Windows 8-based <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/04/samsung-ativ-smartpc-for-atandt-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">ATIV Smart PC</a> will reach its stores and LTE network by November 9th at respective contract-free prices of $500 and $800. Those who spring for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/ATIV/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">ATIV</a>-badged hardware can deck it out with a $49 Stand Dock and a $40 VGA adapter, both available in late November, if they're keen to transform their 11.6-inch slates into tiny desktops. And if you'd really, really like to go all-in with Samsung, there's a promo running through the holidays that knocks as much as $100 off the tablet price if you're willing to buy a Samsung phone (and the matching two-year contract, naturally) at the same time.</p>

In doing so, however, it found itself being bested by mid-range units from ASUS, Acer, and most damningly, the OG Galaxy Tab. Of course, if you've spent the last six months with this slate as your daily driver, then you might have found some other things to love and loathe about it. Let's imagine Samsung is listening, and tell them what you'd like to see in next year's version (aside from, perhaps, just buying a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/29/google-nexus-10/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Nexus 10</a>).</p>

Now that Google's let its trio of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/29/google-nexus-10/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">updated Nexus products</a> out of the bag, Magenta's ready to give us pricing and availability for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/29/nexus-4-official/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Nexus 4</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/25/t-mobile-htc-8x-sign-up/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">HTC 8X</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/09/nokia-lumia-810-for-t-mobile-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Lumia 810</a> which are set to hit the carrier's shelves this November 14th. Both Google's and Microsoft's (signature) flagships will be available for $199 on a two-year plan, while Nokia's lower-end WP8 handset will go for $149 with the same contract duration. Also, joining the crowded launch lineup that day is Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for $349 with a two-year agreement. As for the newly HSPA+ capable Nexus 7, well, you'll be able to snag that refreshed slate on Google Play just one day later. Of course, T-Mo hasn't forgotten about its value-minded sub base, offering up LG's Optimus L9 on the 31st of this month at an affordable $79 on contract. So if it's options you wanted this holiday season, Magenta's doling them out in spades. Hit up the break for the official PR.</p>

What weather? <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/17/google-android-nexus-event-october-29th/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Google</a> has announced the Nexus 10, a Samsung-made 10.05-inch tablet that appears to share a lot of DNA with the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/14/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-uk-availability/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Tab 2 10.1</a>. Android chief Andy Rubin revealed that the device will be packing a 2,560 x 1,600 display, promising a pixel density of 300 ppi. Google has also indicated that the Nexus 10 will crank out nine hours of continuous video playback and 500 hours of standby on its 9,000mAh lithium polymer battery. Of course, no new tablet would be complete without a new operating system, and while we'll still be calling it Jelly Bean, it's now been bumped all the way up to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/29/google-bumps-android-to-4-2-keeps-jelly-bean-moniker/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Android 4.2</a>.</p><p> The official specifications match those that were <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/26/google-nexus-10-leaks-android-tablet/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">leaked</a> late last week, and inside the device is a dual-core, Cortex A15-based 1.7 GHz Samsung Exynos 5250 CPU. In addition, there's a Mali T604 GPU, stereo speakers, 2GB of RAM, NFC, 802.11 b/g/n (MIMO + HT40) WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, with front-and rear NFC (Android beam) radios. 'Round back you'll find a 5-megapixel main camera and a 1.9-megapixel forward-facing shooter. Weighing 603 grams, it's 8.9mm thick and offers microUSB, Pogo Pin, microHDMI and the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. It'll be available from November 13th on Google Play in the US, UK, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Canada and Japan -- with the 16GB edition costing $399 (&pound;319 in the UK) and the 32GB version setting you back $499 (&pound;389). <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/google-nexus-10-press-gallery/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Google Nexus 10 Press Gallery</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/google-nexus-10-press-gallery/5394189?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/10/nexus-10-product-image-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/google-nexus-10-press-gallery/5394190?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/10/nexus-10-product-image-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/google-nexus-10-press-gallery/5394191?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/10/nexus-10-product-image-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/google-nexus-10-press-gallery/5394192?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/10/nexus-10-product-image-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/google-nexus-10-press-gallery/5394193?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/10/nexus-10-product-image2-1351530172_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p>

As if to clear the decks, Samsung has passed three devices through the FCC's scrutiny at the same time. Two, the SPH-P500 and SCH-i915, are LTE-equipped tablets respectively headed to Sprint and Verizon with a dash of mystery; their label images imply a pair of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/15/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Tab 2</a> variants, but both have previously been spotted in as yet unverified benchmarks that allude to much faster <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/SnapdragonS4/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Snapdragon S4</a> processors instead of the Tab 2's TI chips. The SPH-L900's dimensions and dual-mode support make for a safer bet, pointing to what's likely the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/20/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-for-sprint-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Note II for Sprint</a>. We're less concerned with the hardware details so much as when everything ships -- although we may get a clearer picture of the Sprint Galaxy Note II's fate <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/27/samsung-asks-us-to-witness-the-next-big-thing-at-october-24-event/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">around October 24th</a>, the tablets aren't linked to any kind of public schedule, official or otherwise.</p><p> <strong>Update:</strong> Not long after Sprint's Galaxy Note sequel arrived in the FCC, US Cellular's flavor -- the SCH-R950 -- also made it through the federal approval process.</p>

And today, the operator's welcoming a gaggle of Android devices from Samsung to bolster its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/4gLte/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">4G LTE</a> offerings. Headlining this galactic quartet is the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/galaxy+note+ii/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Note II</a>, the company's 5.5-inch phablet sequel which, though previously announced, has yet to receive a solid ship date. Also sharing that spotlight is an actual tablet, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/15/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Tab 2 10.1</a>, and two new smartphones: the Galaxy Express and Galaxy Rugby Pro. While that latter handset is a mere update to the rugged, water-, shock- and dust-proof <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/16/samsung-rugby-smart-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">OG Rugby Smart</a>, the Express is a fresh 4.5-inch ICS device that reps a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and considerable 2,000mAh battery. All are said to be arriving within the "coming months" which, in non-PR garble, should translate to a pre-holiday release. Check out the official presser after the break.</p>

A Tablet-shaped device from Samsung sporting the model number SGH-T779 has just popped up at the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/fcc?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">FCC</a>. While that code name might not tell us much, the T-Mobile branding, and the 4G logo are a little easier to make sense of. There was another model, SGH-I497, that went through the FCC with the same ID -- which had a distinct AT&amp;T / Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 flavor to it -- so betting fans might consider the odds of this being the same thing, but for another operator, as being reasonable. Those who prefer not to chance the hand of fate, likely only need wait a short while, however, for this to pop up on the network's store to find out.</p>

Having been up for grabs here in the US since <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/11/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-and-galaxy-player-4-2-come-stateside/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">way back in May</a>, it's now looking like Sammy's second-gen Tab 10.1 is finally ready to make its official retail debut across the pond. According to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/CarphoneWarehouse/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Carphone Warehouse</a>, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/15/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Tab 2 10.1's</a> "expected" to be in stock as early as next week -- or, August 22nd to be exact -- in the United Kingdom, with the base 16GB, WiFi-only flavor set to be priced at a mere &pound;300, while &pound;100 more gets you the model that's also sporting 3G connectivity. Better yet, the retailer's taking pre-orders as we speak, so click on either of the source links below and choose the Tab 2 10.1 variant best suited for your slate needs.</p>

With Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/08/samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Tab 10.1</a>, though, it's a little less obvious why its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/29/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-hands-on-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">sequel</a> is here. It offers near-identical specs, including a 10-inch, 1280 x 800 PLS display, dual-core 1GHz TI chip, 1GB of RAM and a minimum of 16GB of internal storage. What's more, this generation is slightly thicker and heavier, and sheds the LED flash that used to sit on the back side. But there's one detail we haven't mentioned yet: in addition to softening the specs, Samsung dropped the price by about hundred bucks, so that it now starts at $400.</p><p> Clearly, then, the 10.1 has evolved into a mid-range tablet, whereas it used to be the best Samsung had to offer. That's good news for penny-pinching shoppers, but Samsung has a bit of a problem on its hands: it's jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire, dodging direct competition with the new iPad, only to find itself competing with a raft of affordable tablets made by Acer, ASUS and even Apple. So how does Samsung's warmed-over 10.1 compare? Can it be a winner in the mid-tier category, at least? Let's see.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 review</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-review/5019179?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/dsc01042_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-review/5019180?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/dsc01044_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-review/5019181?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/dsc01046_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-review/5019182?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/dsc01047_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-review/5019183?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/dsc01048_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p>

You're in luck: Samsung's serving up two devices today rocking Google's dessert themed OS, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/29/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-hands-on-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Tab 2 10.1</a> and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/12/samsung-galaxy-player-4-2-remote-viewfinder-hands-on-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Player 4.2</a>. Now we have official word that the slate will launch at that outlet -- and also at Amazon, Best Buy, Tiger Direct and others -- on May 13th. As expected, the 16GB WiFi version will go for $400, and if you've followed our <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/29/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-hands-on-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">coverage</a>, you'll know it's a solid dual-core slate that nonetheless doesn't make huge spec improvements over the original Tab 10.1 (barring that Ice Cream Sandwich OS, of course). The <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/12/samsung-galaxy-player-4-2-remote-viewfinder-hands-on-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Player 4.2</a> will also make its debut this Sunday, for an asking price of $200. Android-loving moms: rejoice.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/04/samsung-releases-galaxy-tab-2-7-and-10-source-code/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img alt="Samsung releases... Y'know, about Samsung's latest release? No, not the Galaxy S III -- that's officially <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-is-official/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">yesterday's news</a>. No, today's story is all about tablets, Galaxy Tab 2's more specifically. The Korean tech giant has released the source code for both the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/11/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-7-0-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">seven</a>- and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/29/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-hands-on-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">ten-inch</a> varieties, effectively handing developers the keys to the customization kingdom. So if you love the technology, but the interface less so, you might not have to wait all that long for a better option. The exact models that have been opened up are: GT-P3100, GT-P3110, GT-P3113, GT-P5100, GT-P5110, and GT-P5113. Got a feature you'd really like to see? Better get poking the fine chaps at <em>xda-developers</em> with your requests.</p>

<p style="text-align: center; "> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/17/samsung-reportedly-axes-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-production/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img alt="Samsung reportedly axes Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 production to add quad-core CPU" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/dsc00003.jpg" style="width: 600px; height: 399px; margin: 4px; " /></a></p><p> This is, well, a little strange. The fine folks over at <em>Netbooknews</em> are reporting that Samsung has ended production on the GT P5100 -- better known as the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. The story comes courtesy of an unnamed "Korean Samsung insider" who claims the device is getting upgraded to a quad-core CPU. Whether the chip in question is the much lauded 32nm <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/23/samsung-demos-new-32nm-quad-core-exynos-ahead-of-mwc/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Exynos 4412</a>, which packs not only four Cortex A9 cores, but four Mali 604 GPU cores as well, is unknown. It's also not clear how this is going to affect <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/11/samsung-prices-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-at-400-galaxy-players-at-150-and-200/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">US launch plans</a>. Rumors are the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/22/samsung-galaxy-note-10-1-preview-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Note 10.1</a> will be getting a similar brain transplant before hitting the market. Sadly, all we can do right now hold our breath and wish real hard that both will hit shelves sooner rather than later and with an extra pair of cores in tow. Sammy better get a move on too if it's gonna have to give Uncle Sam <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/28/galaxy-tab-2-10-1-takes-a-ride-through-the-fcc/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">another crack</a> at this slate.</p><p> <strong>Update</strong>: Samsung reached out to us to confirm that the above report is not true. The US version of this tablet will still have a dual-core CPU and it's still shipping on May 13th, with pre-orders starting on May 4th.</p>

Of course, if you'd rather keep that 7-inch beauty and pocket a spare device, that same $150 will buy a Galaxy Player 3.6. If <em>that's too small</em>, Sammy will let you pick up a 4.2 variant for $200 square. Care to read that straight? Mosey on past the break for Samsung's official press release.

Well, it was just was given a passing grade by the FCC, meaning it's at least one step closer to hitting the shelves. The GT P5100 is the same model of the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 we saw back at MWC, which supports HSPA+ on bands II and V -- as opposed to the WiFi only model that was given a stamp of approval last week. The 1900 and 850MHz compatibility means it'll work on <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/att?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">AT&amp;T</a> here in the US, though, we've heard no word about an American <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/25/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-officially-unveiled-at-mwc/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">release</a>. Uncle Sam's testing didn't end with the cellular radio, the regulators also took a stab at the 802.11n and Bluetooth 3.0 antennae. If you're a fan of radiation charts you'll find all you've ever wanted at the source link.

Essentially serving as the replacement for its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/16/samsungs-qwerty-flip-smart-tv-remote-is-official-along-with-new/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">2011 Qwerty remote</a>, the new Touch variant will come included with the ES7500 and ES8000 LED models and E8000 Plasma display. Notably, the remote also features a built-in microphone which will assist with voice controls if ya happen to be far away from your TV. Moving along for those who like to type, the Wireless Keyboard will be available separately and features most of what you'll find on the remote cleanly affixed on its right side. Announced with little fanfare, it's not even on display in Samsung's booth here at Mobile World Congress; you'll have to talk your way into a private room if you want a shot at getting hands-on.<br /> <br /> And we can see why: with a 1280 x 800 display, 1GHz dual-core processor and 3-megapixel rear camera, its specs are nearly identical to what you'll find in last year's <a href="http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=site%3Aengadget.com?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget%20galaxy%20tab%2010.1&amp;source=web&amp;cd=4&amp;ved=0CF0QFjAD&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.engadget.com%2F2011%2F06%2F08%2Fsamsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-review%2F&amp;ei=xGRNT5PWK6K-0QWFi-CeBQ&amp;usg=AFQjCNFGgybb8ciEr9wwwbSem5xBMW107Q&amp;cad=rja">Galaxy Tab 10.1</a>. Sure, it has a redesigned back cover and ships with Android 4.0, but otherwise, it's the same tablet. But with the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/28/a-closer-look-at-the-samsung-galaxy-note-10-1-video/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">new Galaxy Note tablet</a> replacing the original 10.1 as Samsung's premier 10-inch tablet, the new 10.1 could be the budget-friendly option its predecessor wasn't. So does it hold promise as a mid-range tab? It'll be impossible to say until we know the price, but watch our hands-on video after the break and decide for yourselves just how much you'd pay for this thing.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-hands-on/4855092?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/dsc00001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-hands-on/4855093?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/dsc00002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-hands-on/4855094?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/dsc00003-1330512895_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-hands-on/4855095?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/dsc00004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-hands-on/4855096?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/dsc00005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p>

<div style="text-align: center;"> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/25/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1-officially-unveiled-at-mwc/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/galaxytab210.1productimage4.jpg" style="border-width: 0px; border-style: solid; margin: 4px; height: 450px; width: 450px;" /></a></div><div> We already saw Samsung's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/13/samsung-announces-galaxy-tab-2-android-4.0/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"> Galaxy Tab 2 7.0</a> just over a week ago, and now the company has come clean with its 10.1-inch variant (along with a new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/25/samsung-unveils-new-galaxy-beam-smartphone-projector-combo-wit/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Galaxy Beam</a> smartphone). Aside from bumping up the screen resolution of its LCD to 1280 x 800, from 1024 x 600 on the 7.0, the 10.1 features the same 1Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, front and rear cameras (VGA and 3-megapixels, respectively) and 21Mbps HSPA+ connectivity if you opt for the 3G model instead of WiFi. The 10.1-incher notably comes equipped with a 7,000 mAh battery (up from 4,000 on the 7.0), which will hopefully ensure stamina that's similar to its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/08/samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">predecessor</a>. The slate is unsurprisingly loaded with TouchWiz-flavored <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/01/android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Ice Cream Sandwich</a>, and will be offered in 16 and 32GB models (expandable by up to 32GB if you supply your own microSD card). There's no word on pricing just yet, but Sammy plans to start selling all 10.1-inches of this treat during March in the UK -- and you can bet we'll get our own in-person hands-on while we're traversing the show floor here at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/mwc2012/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">MWC</a>. For now, you'll find full details about the slate in the press release after the break and press images in the gallery below. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1/4842592?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/samsunggalaxytab10102_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1/4842593?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/samsunggalaxytab10103_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1/4842594?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/samsunggalaxytab10104_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1/4842681?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/galaxytab210.1productimage3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></div>
