<p>There aren't as many big bands and artists holding out on streaming or downloaded music as there <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/16/the-beatles-show-up-in-itunes/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">used</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/31/led-zeppelin-embraces-itunes-eminem-sues/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">to be</a>, but there's unquestionably still some noticeable omissions on today's most popular services. One of those gaps now looks set to be filled, though, as a tweet from the official Pink Floyd Twitter account has all but confirmed that the band's entire back catalog will soon be available to stream on Spotify. The catch is that it'll only be available once "Wish You Were Here" is streamed a million times. Not quite as original as a flying pig as far as publicity stunts go, to be sure, but we're not ones to discourage you from listening to a little Floyd on repeat.</p>

<p><strong>Update: </strong>Well, it looks like it only took a weekend for Spotify to reach its goal. The company's <a href="https://www.spotify.com/us/blog/archives/2013/06/17/pink-floyd/?no-pcache=1">confirmed</a> that "Wish You Were Here" has been listened to over one million times as of this morning, and that the rest of Pink Floyd's songs are now available for streaming as a result.</p>

Sonos' latest update for its iOS and Android <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/12/sonos-app-gets-universal-favorites-android-widget-and-iphone-5-tweaks/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Controller apps</a> does just that, and you can now log-in to the streaming service using your Facebook account. What's more, version 4.1 makes handling mixtapes easier, as you can access, edit or build new Spotify playlists from within the app. Revising your Sonos playlists, or creating new ones altogether, has also been tweaked so you no longer need to involve the 'now playing' queue. Lastly, the alarm function can now be set to wake you with the sounds of your preferred subscription service, taking you straight from dreaming to streaming.</p>

<p class="image-container" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/29/spotify-discover/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img alt="Spotify Discover launches for all with integration from Songkick, Pitchfork and more" data-src-height="382" data-src-width="619" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/spotify-web-player-rlaw.jpg" /></a></p>

<p>Spotify is making another push to help its users find more music they're interested in listening to, and find out more about the artists they like by making its "Discover" feature available to all. Initially shown off <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/12/06/spotify-reveals-discover-tab-collections-and-follow-social-feat/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">late last year</a>, this page combines several elements that have already been a part of the music service, including apps like Pitchfork, Songkick and Tunigo with its song recommendations and followed artist pages. There's also an audio preview feature to let you easily dip into a song that seems interesting, without pulling the focus away from whatever you were listening to before.</p>

<p>The new page is available today on Spotify's web player for all users, and is expected to come to its desktop and mobile clients "gradually." With the launch of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/18/twitter-music-iphone-app-browser-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Twitter Music</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/15/google-play-music-all-access-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Google Play Music's All Access</a> Spotify is facing renewed competition on multiple fronts, we'll see if this kind of one stop shopping for info is key to keeping its users tied to their subscriptions. Check after the break for a few more details in the press release, or hit the website to give it a try yourself.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/spotify-discover/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Spotify Discover</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/spotify-discover/5915781?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/radio800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/spotify-discover/5915782?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/playlist800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/spotify-discover/5915783?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/discover800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/spotify-discover/5915784?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/artist-page800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p>

<p>If you've ever sighed in frustration at not being able to leap straight from discovering a song to playing it ad-nauseum on <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/21/spotify-charts-launch/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Spotify</a> or <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/18/rdio-ios-app-update-sharing/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Rdio</a>, here's a heads-up. Shazam's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/25/Shazam-tablet-ipad-android-300-million/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">iPad-focused</a> iOS update integrates both streaming services with its discovery software in addition to a new look home screen and an auto-tagging mode that'll passively observe any music in the background. The mapping service has also been tweaked, letting you search and see what songs are being tagged in your neighborhood (or anyone else's, for that matter) and if you'd like to see it in action, head on past the break.</p>

<p><strong>Update:</strong> Shazam's been in touch to clarify that Rdio is available for all users, but if you want Spotify integration, you'll have to upgrade to the paid version.</p>

<p>Taking a page out of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/29/billboard-redesign/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Billboard's playbook</a>, Spotify is using its listener data to determine the most popular music in a particular country. Available on the website or as <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/11/spotify-play-button-launch/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">embeddable widgets</a>, the weekly updated charts will reveal which tracks are most listened to for the Spotify 50. The Social 50 list will contain the tracks most often actively shared by the service's users, including via Facebook and Twitter. Another new addition is the ability to see play counts for an artist's top tracks, tracking global plays since October 2008. That's rolling out to desktop clients first and will pop up elsewhere later, while the charts will update every week at noon ET. Hit the link below for this week's list topped by Macklemore &amp; Ryan Lewis and Daft Punk, although we'll know if it's really taking off when we see a green record on someone's wall in a future episode of <em>Cribs</em>.</p>

<p>First of all: that name. Google Play Music All Access. Perhaps Google's presenters realized, as they were driving to the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/15/live-from-google-i-os-2013-opening-keynote/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">I/O keynote</a>, that they had forgotten to name the new music-streaming service, and came up with that clunker backstage.</p>

Unique? Magical? It's easy to dismiss those claims within minutes of signing up. Prosaic and useful, yes; unique and magical, no. All Access is nowhere near an innovation. The major ecosystem companies, each of which started with groundbreaking technical development, now seem to fashion their business destinies on buttressing their networks with products innovated elsewhere, plugging holes to sway existing users from drifting out of the system. It's not a new story, but always a sad one.</p>
