Whoa there Sony, try not to get too excited all at once, okay? Over in Vegas today, said outfit has unleashed a veritable smorgasbord of projectors on the world, primarily ones aimed at businesses and large venues. Each of the VPL-EX50, VPL-EX5 and VPL-EW5 beamers include the company's BrightEra technology and should go well in classrooms, while the XGA VPL-FX41 comes in with 5,000 lumens to light up even the largest rooms. Moving on, we've got the WXGA+ (1,366 x 800) VPL-FW300 and the VPL-FH300 (pictured), which offers an even nicer 2,048 x 1,080 resolution. 'Tis a shame that last one is stickered at $40,000. Hit the read link for more details (pricing included) on the whole lot.

Sony unveils superabundance of projectors at InfoComm originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 18 Jun 2008 19:40:00 EST. Sony, like 3M earlier today, just dropped a big black deuce of stealthy projectors. The VPL-FE40 and FX40 3LCD models deliver up to 4000 ANSI lumens off that ¥50,400 (about $424) 275W bulb, a 1.3x optical zoom, and fattastic selection of in and outs including HDMI, component, S-Video, D-sub 15, and Ethernet for projecting images from networked sources. The only real difference betwen the two is resolution, price, and ship date with the FE40 delivering a 1400×1050 (SXGA+) resolution for ¥600,000 (about $5,045) starting January 2007 while the FX40 goes 1024×768 (XGA) for ¥470,000 (about $3,952) one month later. For that big-a wad, let's hope they are invisible to radar too, you know, just in case. Check the caboose after the flip.

[Via Impress]
Continue reading Sony VPL-FE40/FX40 3LCD projectors

Sony VPL-FE40/FX40 3LCD projectors originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 23 Oct 2006 09:04:00 EST.
