Sony's leading the way this week with four releases though, two of which include <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/20/sony-pictures-schedules-two-bd-live-releases-for-april/">BD Live content</a> as well as TrueHD sound. Something also interesting to note is that the super hot, <em>I Am Legend</em> hits HD DVD this week, so we'll be interested to see how well it sells on next week's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/VideoScan/">VideoScan</a> numbers now that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/26/hd-dvds-vanishing-from-best-buy-stores/">some retailers</a> have eliminated its HD DVD shelf space. <br /><br /></div>

Shortly after <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/21/sony-reveals-bd-live-extras-for-walk-hard/">finding out</a> what kind of extras would be available on the BD-Live-enabled <em>Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story</em> release, the folks over at <em>The Man Room</em> were able to snag a pre-release copy and give it a whirl on Sony's recently <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/25/hands-on-with-the-ps3-2-20-update-and-now-we-wait/">updated-to-Profile 2.0</a> PlayStation 3. Unfortunately, "slow" was the term of the day. From the initial four minute wait until the BD-Live menu appeared to the four to five minute pause as each "Coxologist featurette" downloaded (in SD, no less), we quickly learned that patience was paramount. Even worse, an HD trailer took 18 minutes to grab on a DSL connection, and there's no apparent way to stream the content versus downloading it in full before watching. Nah, we're not giving up hope just yet, but feel free to hit the read link for a look at just how rough around the edges the whole thing seems right now.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/reviews/" rel="tag">Reviews</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/blu-ray/" rel="tag">Blu-ray</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/players/" rel="tag">Players</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/sony/" rel="tag">Sony</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/03/walk-hards-bd-live-features-get-tested-on-sonys-ps3/">Walk Hard's BD-Live features get tested on Sony's PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 03 Apr 2008 10:59:00 EST. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/20/sony-pictures-schedules-two-bd-live-releases-for-april/">first BD-Live extras</a>. For this flick, <em>High-Def Digest</em> says viewers can download three exclusive mini-featurettes based around the Derek Stone character played by Bill Hader, a "Coxologist". Physically present on the two disc set are a bunch of other extras including commentaries, making-of, deleted scenes and more. No word what's in store for <em>The 6th Day</em> owners, but we imagine it's something similar.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/blu-ray/" rel="tag">Blu-ray</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/sony/" rel="tag">Sony</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/21/sony-reveals-bd-live-extras-for-walk-hard/">Sony reveals BD-Live extras for Walk Hard</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 21 Mar 2008 21:18:00 EST.
