It may have taken <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Belkin/">Belkin</a> a season or two longer than it would've liked, but the TuneCast Auto Live FM transmitter has finally received its shipping papers. Hailed as the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/04/belkin-shows-first-iphone-3-0-accessory-mashes-up-gps-and-fm-da/">first iPhone 3.0 accessory</a> way back in June of last year, this here device is designed to tap into your iPhone 3G / 3GS GPS module and quickly find the best FM station for transmission. Put simply, it takes the guesswork out of selecting the most optimal frequency for use in your vehicle, and it also allows you to switch stations right on your iPhone's display. It's up for purchase right now in North America for $79.99, while Europe and Asia / Australia is expected to see it in March and April, respectively.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/25/belkin-finally-ships-80-tunecast-auto-live-iphone-fm-transmitte/">Belkin finally ships $80 TuneCast Auto Live iPhone FM transmitter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 25 Jan 2010 09:43:00 EST. After your fourth or fifth time ending up in a ditch or a swimming pool or a tree while attempting to find a good FM frequency to push your iPod tunes to your car stereo, you're likely looking for a better way to live. Lucky for you, Belkin has been hard at work over-engineering the problem to death, and has finally emerged with the new TuneCast Auto Live FM Transmitter. The device is "specifically compatible" with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/17/apple-previews-iphone-os-3-0/">iPhone OS 3.0</a>, and pulls GPS data from the phone to figure out the clearest FM frequency to use based on "geographical" data and on the recommendations of other local users. It's all controllable from the iPhone interface with the free ClearScan Live app, which reduces device juggling, but the unit also works with the iPod touch, iPod classic and iPod nano. It'll be available early this fall for $80.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/os-x/" rel="tag">iPhone OS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/accessories/" rel="tag">Accessories</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/04/belkin-shows-first-iphone-3-0-accessory-mashes-up-gps-and-fm-da/">Belkin shows first iPhone 3.0 accessory, mashes up GPS and FM data to pick the best TuneCast frequency</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 04 Jun 2009 14:33:00 EST. Toshiba is back and ready to make good on some of the higher end HDTVs promised <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/07/live-from-toshibas-ces-press-conference/">at CES</a>, after showing off the energy efficient <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/tag/regza">C8000 REGZA LCDs</a>, it's time for the 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio local dimming LED backlit ZX8000 (labeled <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/2009/01/07/toshiba-rolls-out-new-regza-hdtv-line-internet-connected-crew-c/">SV670 in the U.S.</a>) series. These also pack the latest edition of <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/05/30/toshiba-knows-no-shame-plans-to-release-super-resolution-dvd-pl/">Super Resolution+</a> upconverting, ClearScan 240Hz motion and fifth generation Pixel Pure image processing. We've heard those picture quality claims and seen the (<a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/12/18/toshibas-46xv545u-lcd-hdtv-reviewed-internal-upscaling-is-a-jo/">sometimes controversial</a>) results before, but a few features anyone can appreciate are InstaPort HDMI for lagless switching between inputs and AutoView calibration for room lighting conditions. Add-on hard disk drives are also available, and the ZX8000 models are expected in late June / early July for 46- and 55-inch models topping out around 600,000 ($5,944.) Willing to live without LED backlighting, 240Hz or other bullet points? The ZH8000, Z8000 and H8000 <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/2009/01/20/the-hdtvs-of-ces-2009/">models</a> are ready and waiting for appropriately lower prices.<br /> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/toshiba-rolls-out-new-regza-hdtv-line-internet-connected-crew-coming-later/">Toshiba rolls out new REGZA HDTV line, internet connected crew coming later</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/toshiba-rolls-out-new-regza-hdtv-line-internet-connected-crew-coming-later/#1264034"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/22av600u_3-4r_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/toshiba-rolls-out-new-regza-hdtv-line-internet-connected-crew-coming-later/#1264035"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/47sv670_3-4r_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/toshiba-rolls-out-new-regza-hdtv-line-internet-connected-crew-coming-later/#1264036"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/47zv650_logo_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/toshiba-rolls-out-new-regza-hdtv-line-internet-connected-crew-coming-later/#1264037"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/47zv650_3-4l_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/toshiba-rolls-out-new-regza-hdtv-line-internet-connected-crew-coming-later/#1264038"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/01/40xv640_ho_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hdtv/" rel="tag">HDTV</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/homeentertainment/" rel="tag">Home Entertainment</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/07/toshiba-matches-prices-ship-dates-to-led-backlit-regza-lcds-in/">Toshiba matches prices, ship dates to LED backlit REGZA LCDs in Japan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 07 Apr 2009 09:12:00 EST. Both the TuneBase FM and TuneCast Auto are compatible with a slew of iPod and iPod mini models as well as le iPhone, with the former also sporting a mount and docking station. Both also feature Belkin's ClearScan technology that automagically searches out the best FM frequency for optimal sound... as optimal as you can get with an FM transmitter, anyway. TuneCast Auto will be available in February for $79.99, with the TuneBase FM coming in at $99.99 in April.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/belkin-launches-tunebase-fm-and-tunecast-auto-for-iphone-and-ipod-2/">Belkin launches TuneBase FM and TuneCast Auto for iPhone and iPod</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/belkin-launches-tunebase-fm-and-tunecast-auto-for-iphone-and-ipod-2/#564041"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/01/tunecast-800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/belkin-launches-tunebase-fm-and-tunecast-auto-for-iphone-and-ipod-2/#564040"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/01/tunecast2-800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/belkin-launches-tunebase-fm-and-tunecast-auto-for-iphone-and-ipod-2/#564033"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/01/tunebase2-800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/belkin-launches-tunebase-fm-and-tunecast-auto-for-iphone-and-ipod-2/#564032"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/01/tunebase1-800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div> <p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/transportation/" rel="tag">Transportation</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/07/belkin-launches-tunebase-fm-and-tunecast-auto-for-iphone-and-ipo/">Belkin launches TuneBase FM and TuneCast Auto for iPhone and iPod</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 07 Jan 2008 13:13:00 EST.
