We knew sales of Universal's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/08/the-bourne-ultimatum-dvd-hd-dvd-combo-disc-landing-on-december/"><em>The Bourne Ultimatum</em></a> and Warner's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/21/harry-potter-and-the-order-of-the-phoenix-hd-dvd-to-debut-new-on/"><em>Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix</em></a> would be closely eyed, and sure enough, the web is ablaze with discussion surrounding initial reports. Reportedly, <em>Potter</em> topped the DVD sales charts for the week ending December 16, 2007, but 'round these parts, it's the high-definition iteration(s) that we're concerned with. Regrettably, it seems that the actual breakdown of HD DVD vs. Blu-ray sales on the latest installment of <em>Potter</em> has yet to be divulged, but we were told that <em>Bourne</em> outsold the wizard and his posse by a margin of "nearly 2-to-1" on HD DVD. Furthermore, <em>Order of the Phoenix</em> managed to slip in at number two on the Blu-ray charts, falling shy of leader <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/12/13/third-installment-of-pirates-moves-160k-blu-ray-discs/"><em>Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End</em></a>. Hopefully we'll hear a few more specifics on all of this soon enough.<br /><br />[Thanks, Ali]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/industry/" rel="tag">Industry</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/blu-ray/" rel="tag">Blu-ray</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hd-dvd/" rel="tag">HD DVD</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/12/20/bourne-potter-dominate-sales-charts/">Bourne, Potter dominate sales charts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 20 Dec 2007 16:26:00 EST. Since the <a href="http://www.aoltv.com/2007/08/20/hannah-montana-breaks-cable-ratings-record/">most-watched basic cable event</a> ever simply could not be left in standard def, <a href="chrome://performancing/content/engadgethd.com/tag/directv">DirecTV</a> is airing <em>High School Musical 2</em> in HD on August 24. The exclusive broadcast will include three high definition airings with 5.1 surround audio beginning at 6 p.m. If you're somehow unaware of the <em>High School Musical</em> <strike>series</strike> phenomenon, this is likely caused by not being a girl between the ages of 9-15, or somehow related to one. This preview is just a taste of what to expect when <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/13/directv-to-carry-four-new-hd-disney-owned-channels-in-2008/">Disney Channel HD launches on DirecTV in early 2008</a>, or when <em>High School Musical 2</em> is released on Blu-ray in December. We're sure that Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu and the rest are exactly what you had in mind for your new HDTV.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/blu-ray/" rel="tag">Blu-ray</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/satellite/" rel="tag">Satellite</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/primetime/" rel="tag">Primetime</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/21/high-school-musical-2s-hd-debut-is-exclusively-on-directv/">High School Musical 2's HD debut is exclusively on DirecTV</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 21 Aug 2007 13:35:00 EST.
