The receivers all pack the brand new InstaPrevue (PiP preview of each HDMI source with fast switching) and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/mhl/">MHL</a>, while the three networked models are the first with access to MP3tunes cloud stored songs, as well as a number of other services including <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/29/spotify-now-streaming-over-european-onkyo-receivers/">Spotify</a>. The top of the line TX-NR616 ($699, April, pictured above) packs the most power and rocks a THX Select2 Plus stamp of quality and, along with the step down TX-NR515 ($599, March) has Qdeo video processing that scale video up to 4K res and output audio on 7.2 channels. On the HTIBs, the 7.1 HT-S5500 ($649, March) and 5.1 HT-S3500 bring all the usual features wrapped around a new "Wide Range Amplifier Technology" that it claims reduces signal noise while still pumping up the power through discrete output-stage components. The full list of specs, prices and shipping windows are in the press releases after the break, hit the source links for a few more pictures.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/17/onkyo-debuts-new-entry-level-receivers-htibs-for-2012/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Onkyo debuts new entry level receivers, HTIBs for 2012</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/17/onkyo-debuts-new-entry-level-receivers-htibs-for-2012/">Onkyo debuts new entry level receivers, HTIBs for 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 17 Feb 2012 11:29:00 EST. We're not the biggest fans of home theaters that come in a single box, but out of all of them we recognize the value and versatility of the Onkyo offerings. The latest addition is at the top of the line adding to the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/11/onkyos-ht-s7300-and-ht-s6300-htib-bundles-are-totally-ready-for/">HT-S7300 and HT-S6300 we told you about earlier this month</a>. The HT-S9300THX is <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/3D/">3D</a> ready and features four HDMI 1.4a inputs as well as the latest lossless HD decoders, Audyssey 2EQ room acoustics correction technology, and is the first THX I/S Plus Certified (newly created for HTIBs). The 7.1 system also happens to include a Faroudja DCDi Cinema video processor for upconverting those old standard def sources to 1080p. Certainly not what you think of when you think of a HTIB, but it will start shipping this week for $1099 if it's up your alley.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/24/onkyo-adds-the-ht-9300thx-to-the-top-of-its-htib-line/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Onkyo adds the HT-9300THX to the top of its HTIB line</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/24/onkyo-adds-the-ht-9300thx-to-the-top-of-its-htib-line/">Onkyo adds the HT-9300THX to the top of its HTIB line</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 24 Jul 2010 16:01:00 EST. Shocker of shockers -- <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Onkyo/">Onkyo</a> has outed a pair of home-theater-in-box bundles, and both of 'em are <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/3D/">3D</a> ready. Crazy, ain't it? The HT-S6300 and HT-S7300 both have 3D-ready HDMI-1.4a inputs, 1080p video upscaling, lossless Dolby and DTS high definition audio, Dolby height processing, Audyssey automatic room equalization and seven total loudspeakers (plus a subwoofer). The primary difference between the two is the pair of 41-inch tall floorstanders that come with the S7300, as both systems ship with a 7 x 130W amplifier and a 290W subbie. As expected, there's also an outboard dock for iPod and iPhone, and the Faroudja DCDi Cinema processor should keep upscaled content looking its very best. The duo is available now for $749 and $899, respectively, and the full presser awaits just past the break should you find yourself interested.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/11/onkyos-ht-s7300-and-ht-s6300-htib-bundles-are-totally-ready-for/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Onkyo's HT-S7300 and HT-S6300 HTIB bundles are totally ready for 3D, man</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/11/onkyos-ht-s7300-and-ht-s6300-htib-bundles-are-totally-ready-for/">Onkyo's HT-S7300 and HT-S6300 HTIB bundles are totally ready for 3D, man</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 11 Jul 2010 10:32:00 EST. Whether you're shopping with an eye peeled for that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/04/hdmi-1-4a-spec-released-in-full-lays-down-mandatory-3d-format-s/">HDMI 1.4a</a> 3D-ready sticker <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/15/poll-will-you-still-buy-home-theater-equipment-that-isnt-3d-re/">or not</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/onkyo/">Onkyo's</a> rolled the features out across its entire line of HDMI-equipped receivers for 2010, and the first of those have begun showing up at a few online retailers. So far the TX-SR308, a 5.1-channel receiver and the HT-S3300, a 5.1 HTIB system, are the first to arrive proudly sporting $299 and $379 MSRPs, respectively. Now that spring has officially sprung around these parts, more powerful systems with extra features like front mounted HDMI ports, more speakers, more powerful amplifiers and video scalers including the TX-22HDX 2.1 HTIB (pictured after the break) and TX-SR608 7.1 receiver (above) should start arriving shortly. Check the press release after the break for full details of what is available and what is yet to come, or click the read links if you just have to buy one today -- we won't think any less of you.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/03/onkyos-first-3d-ready-receivers-are-slowly-trickling-into-retai/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Onkyo's first 3D-ready receivers are slowly trickling into retail channels</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/03/onkyos-first-3d-ready-receivers-are-slowly-trickling-into-retai/">Onkyo's first 3D-ready receivers are slowly trickling into retail channels</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 03 Apr 2010 09:10:00 EST. There's so many features (and components -- they even include an <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/17/onkyo-debuts-universal-port-loving-ipod-dock-hd-radio-tuner/">iPod dock</a>) packed into Onkyo's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/onkyo,htib">HTIB</a> systems that it takes a little digging to find the spec bumps in the new HT-S7200 and S6200 models. The top-line HT-S7200 received one extra HDMI input (for a total of five), and both new models also added Audyssey Dynamic Volume and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/dolby+prologic+iiz/">Dolby ProLogic IIz</a> to their processing palette. All in all, pretty consistent with the changes sweeping over the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/12/onkyos-tx-sr607-receiver-stakes-out-the-high-ground-with-dolby/">TX-SRx07</a> receiver lineup, and the $899 and $699 prices for the HT-S7200 and HT-S6200, respectively, are also in line with Onkyo's high value equation for its HTIBs. Finally, there's a $499 SKS-HT870 speaker-only package with the "tallboy" anchored speakers from the HT-S7200 system available for those who want to upgrade their HTIB without starting all over.<br /><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/receivers/" rel="tag">Receivers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/speakers/" rel="tag">Speakers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/29/onkyo-ht-s7200-and-ht-s6200-htibs-new-features-same-value/">Onkyo HT-S7200 and HT-S6200 HTIBs -- new features, same value</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 29 Jul 2009 10:11:00 EST. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Onkyo/">Onkyo</a> just loves to make new product announcements in batches, and the latest press volley is no exception. Planned for release next month in Japan are the 2.1-channel HTX-11X system, CR-D2LTD CD mini-system with matched D-112EXLTD bookshelf speakers, A-5VL Class D integrated amplifier, and C-S5VL thin SACD deck. Even if the model names don't exactly roll off the tongue, the machine translations tell you most of what you need to know. Here's a quick rundown: the HTX-11X matches up the stereo pair of bookshelf speakers with the amplifier buried in the subwoofer cabinet to the tune of 35-Watts to the sub itself and 17-Watts across each of the 5 remaining taps; if you're putting together something for your executive office, the CR-D2LTD mini-system paired up with the D-112EXLTD speakers will handle your CDs and FM radio; and audiophiles looking to roll their own might find something to like in the 80-mm thin C-S5VL SACD deck and 40-Watt A-5VL Class D integrated amplifier. If you're planning on doing some shopping in Akihabara soon, go past the break for pretty pics and hit the links for the full details.<br /><br /><a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&amp;sl=ja&amp;u=http://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20090522_169932.html&amp;ei=LicYSrePJI-stgeGsrjkDA&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=translate&amp;resnum=2&amp;ct=result&amp;prev=/search%3Fq%3DHTX-11X%2Bimpress%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG">Read</a> - HTX-11X HTIB system<br /> <a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&amp;sl=ja&amp;u=http://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20090522_169909.html&amp;ei=RScYSvXwFMnJtgejgZH3DA&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=translate&amp;resnum=1&amp;ct=result&amp;prev=/search%3Fq%3DCR-D2LTD%2Bimpress%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG">Read</a> - CR-D2LTD mini-system, D-112EXLTD speakers<br /> <a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&amp;sl=ja&amp;u=http://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20090522_169906.html&amp;ei=UScYSsXeDYeMtgfzp7DiDA&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=translate&amp;resnum=1&amp;ct=result&amp;prev=/search%3Fq%3DA-5VL%2Bimpress%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG">Read</a> - A-5VL integrated amplifier, C-S5VL SACD player<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/26/onkyo-outs-audio-centric-components-in-japan/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Onkyo outs audio-centric components in Japan</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/other-hardware/" rel="tag">Other hardware</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/players/" rel="tag">Players</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/receivers/" rel="tag">Receivers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/speakers/" rel="tag">Speakers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/26/onkyo-outs-audio-centric-components-in-japan/">Onkyo outs audio-centric components in Japan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 26 May 2009 19:48:00 EST. Hope you won't be confused by two more <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/HTIB/">HTIB</a> systems from <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Onkyo/">Onkyo</a>, 'cause they're coming at you fast and furious. Starting things off is the 7.1-channel HT-S5200, which packs 1,200 total watts of power and includes a 10-inch, 290 watt subwoofer. Said setup is Sirius-ready and features an HDMI-equipped audio-video receiver, four DSP gaming modes, Audyssey 2EQ room correction technology and Audyssey Dynamic Volume to keep levels, um level. The lower-end HT-S3200 consists of a 5.1-channel, 660 watt system that bundles in the HT-R370 receiver and includes a trio of HDMI pass-through inputs, DTS and Dolby Digital surround processing and an 8-inch subwoofer. Both rigs are available now in black or silver for $599 and $379 in order of mention.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/onkyo-intros-entry-level-ht-s5200-and-ht-s3200-htib-systems/">Onkyo intros entry-level HT-S5200 and HT-S3200 HTIB systems</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/onkyo-intros-entry-level-ht-s5200-and-ht-s3200-htib-systems/#1434440"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/03/mini-ht_s3200b_angle_300_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/onkyo-intros-entry-level-ht-s5200-and-ht-s3200-htib-systems/#1434441"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/03/mini-ht_s3200b_front_300_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/onkyo-intros-entry-level-ht-s5200-and-ht-s3200-htib-systems/#1434442"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/03/mini-ht_s5200b_front_dock_300_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/onkyo-intros-entry-level-ht-s5200-and-ht-s3200-htib-systems/#1434443"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/03/mini-ht_s5200b_mic_300_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/onkyo-intros-entry-level-ht-s5200-and-ht-s3200-htib-systems/#1434444"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgethd.com/media/2009/03/mini-ht_s5200s_angle_300_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/speakers/" rel="tag">Speakers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/16/onkyo-intros-entry-level-ht-s5200-and-ht-s3200-htib-systems/">Onkyo intros 'entry-level' HT-S5200 and HT-S3200 HTIB systems</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 16 Mar 2009 16:45:00 EST. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Onkyo/">Onkyo</a>'s HT-S9100THX has been around the block a time or two already, but for those who've yet to pick up the crowd-pleasing set, you're in luck. Said outfit has just released a revamped version of the kit which includes a 7.1-channel AV receiver "designed to conform to THX's demanding Integrated System Plus certification protocols." Additionally, the system now supports THX Loudness Plus technology and includes four HDMI 1.3a inputs for Deep Color compatibility. You'll also find a Faroudja DCDi video upscaling chip, Audyssey 2EQ / Dynamic EQ and support for Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio. As for drivers, you'll get seven two-way speakers (one center, four surrounds, two fronts) along with a self-powered (290-watt) 12-inch subwoofer. The <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/HTIB/">HTIB</a> should be filtering out to shops now for $1,099 (MSRP).<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://marketnews.ca/news_detail.asp?nid=4209">Marketnews</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/receivers/" rel="tag">Receivers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/speakers/" rel="tag">Speakers</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/28/onkyo-updates-ht-s9100thx-htib-system/">Onkyo updates HT-S9100THX HTIB system</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 28 Oct 2008 17:41:00 EST. Check it, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Onkyo/">Onkyo</a> fans -- your main outfit has just revealed two new AV receivers and a pair of HTIB systems, so we're going to get right down to it. Both the $1,099 TX-SR806 (pictured) and $899 TX-SR706 receivers are THX certified and include Faroudja DCDi video processing capabilities, Audyssey room acoustics correction and Dynamic EQ, and Onkyo's Music Optimizer. You'll also find at least four HDMI 1.3a ports and 1080p upscaling. Moving on, we've got the $899 HT-S7100 and $799 HT-S6100 HTIB systems, each of which include a receiver, seven-channel loudspeaker system, a powered subbie and an obligatory iPod dock. Once <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/29/onkyo-shows-off-build-as-you-go-base-v20hd-htib-in-japan/">again</a>, Onkyo is teasing us with a Japanese-market <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/HTIB/">HTIB</a> designed with an upgrade path in mind. This really looks like a multichannel version of the company's 2.1-channel <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/24/onkyo-2-1-htx-22d-sound-system-taps-dts-surround-sensation/">HTX-22D</a>, and that's not a bad start. The WAVIO GXW-2.1HD features 5 x 30-Watts for the speakers, with 60-Watts set aside for the integral subwoofer. The pair of included bookshelf speakers feature 8-cm and 2-cm drivers, and the subwoofer is a 16-cm affair. There's a pair of HDMI 1.3a inputs and a single output, and onboard processing includes Audyssey's 2EQ and Dynamic EQ tweaks, DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD; Onkyo has even kindly included DTS Surround Sensation to keep you virtually, um, surrounded until you add in more speakers. All in all, a pretty good way to start your system. Again, it's only for Japan right now, with a price of &yen;54,800 ($506 US). Seriously, Onkyo's recent <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/18/onkyo-intros-ht-s5100-ht-s4100-and-ht-s3100-htib-systems/">flurry</a> of HT-related <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/23/onkyo-continues-its-receiver-refreshes-with-tx-sr606/">releases</a> should be able to satisfy most anyone's requirements. But greedy gadget-hounds that we are, we'd like to see the BASE-V20HD system announced for Japan arrive here in the US. It's a HTIB starter system with an upgrade path already planned out. Start yourself out with the core of the system: your entry fee of &yen;92,400 ($880) nets a compact 5-channel, 30-Watt receiver with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA support, DTS <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/24/onkyo-2-1-htx-22d-sound-system-taps-dts-surround-sensation/">Surround Sensation</a> and Audyssey DynamicEQ; a 60-Watt sub unit; and two small bookshelf speakers. Then, when you get the yen (ahem) for true surround, add in a D-108C center channel (&yen;12,600 / $120) and two additional D-108M speakers (&yen;9,450 / $90) for rear channel duty. Sounds interesting to us, but we'll just have to keep hoping Onkyo brings this setup stateside.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/receivers/" rel="tag">Receivers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/speakers/" rel="tag">Speakers</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/29/onkyo-shows-off-build-as-you-go-base-v20hd-htib-in-japan/">Onkyo shows off build-as-you-go BASE-V20HD HTIB in Japan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 29 Apr 2008 08:28:00 EST. If the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/17/onkyo-intros-the-ht-sp908-and-ht-sp904-do-it-all-home-theater-sy/">HT-SP908 and HT-SP904</a> systems that Onkyo brought you last fall were just slightly too rich for your blood, the firm is banging out a new trio of HTIBs that just might slide right into your budget. Starting things off is the top-end HT-S5100, which includes a 7.1-channel HT-R560 receiver with three HDMI inputs (and one output), Audyssey 2EQ room correction technology and 130-watts per channel to go along with the seven loudspeakers and single 290-watt powered subwoofer. With this one, you'll also find a dedicated iPod dock and charging station. As for the HT-S4100 and HT-S3100, both sets include five speakers and a subbie, but the latter system's earth-shaker gets powered by the receiver while the former has 200-watts of built-in oomph (and an iPod dock, too). The whole lot comes with a bundled remote and can be had in black or silver motifs, and as for pricing, you'll be looking at $579, $479, and $379, respectively.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/speakers/" rel="tag">Speakers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/18/onkyo-intros-ht-s5100-ht-s4100-and-ht-s3100-htib-systems/">Onkyo intros HT-S5100, HT-S4100 and HT-S3100 HTIB systems</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 18 Apr 2008 15:34:00 EST. Have you ever been sitting at home at night, looking at your 19-inch CRT television and listening to your Victrola phonograph and thought, "Shazam! This setup stinks!"? Well, perhaps you're in dire need of an introduction to Onkyo's HT-SP908, a home theater in a box which does everything... and we mean everything. The progressive-scannin', multi-format-playin', 7.1 system offers 90-watts per channel, an iPod dock, XM and SIRIUS radio compatibility, 720p / 1080i / 1080p upscaling, 1080i and 1080p HDMI in / out, component in / out, optical and coaxial audio in / out, plus playback of DVD Video, Video CS, CD, CD-R/RW, DVD+/-R/RW, MP3, WMA, WMV, MPEG 4-AAC, DivX, and JPEG formats. If that's not enough, it also makes lunch, breaks up with annoying girlfriends, and organizes your t-shirts by color. The HT-SP908 is available now for $1099, a slimmed-down, 5.1 version called the HT-SP904 is also currently on shelves for $899.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=HT-SP908&amp;class=Systems&amp;p=i">Read</a> -- HT-SP908<br /><a href="http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=HT-SP904&amp;class=Systems&amp;p=i">Read</a> -- HT-SP904<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/players/" rel="tag">Players</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/receivers/" rel="tag">Receivers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/speakers/" rel="tag">Speakers</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/17/onkyo-intros-the-ht-sp908-and-ht-sp904-do-it-all-home-theater-sy/">Onkyo intros the HT-SP908 and HT-SP904 do-it-all home theater systems</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 17 Oct 2007 08:03:00 EST.
