<p>You might still be getting your thumbs around <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/23/blackberry-q10-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">that Q10</a>, or the waiting for that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/18/blackberry-10-1-os-developer-preview/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry 10.1 update</a>, but already some future tidbits for the platform have come to light. Michael Clewley, product manager at the firm, let slip that version 10.2 of the OS brings with it support for standard unicode emojis, multiple alarms and level 1 notifications (for email). With the 10.2 SDK said to be coming in June, you can expect the update to follow later in the year. Weren't sure what to do with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/16/hands-on-bbm-channels-blackberry/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry Channels</a>, yet? If you had added Clewley's (PIN C00014277) you'd have got the reveal straight from the man himself.</p>

<p>Music streamers on <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/11/27/rdio-for-ios-version-2-0/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Rdio for iOS</a> are used to getting novel features quite often -- but hey, as they say, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/18/rdio-ios-app-update-sharing/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">the more the merrier</a>, right? Keeping up with that tradition, Rdio announced earlier today it's introducing a few new tidbits to the application with version 2.2. Most notably, the app will now allow users to quickly <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/03/11/rdio-on-iphone-now-shows-which-friends-are-listening/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">find friends</a> and artists via a new feature dubbed -- appropriately, no less -- Find People. Building up on the search improvements, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/rdio/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Rdio's</a> also added an option to easily discover a record label's top musicians and albums, which is, in part, made possible by a number of UI enhancements (like a revamped navigation menu) that were also included in this release. All that sound good? Then you shall wait no more; the goods can be found at our source, or you could always download straight from your iOS device.</p>

<p>It was only a matter of time before Google got around to cleaning up the clumsy 3D interface of its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/04/google-play-magazines-free-digital-versions-for-print-subscribers/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Play Magazines</a> app. With both <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/15/google-play-books-updated-to-allow-user-uploads/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Books</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/15/google-play-music-all-access-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Music</a> already sporting a spiffy new design, we're happy to report that its periodicals portal is now just as flat and user-friendly. Like its recently updated brethren, Play Magazines makes itself easily identifiable through color alone -- in this case a robust purple. If you're looking for some exciting new features, however, you're bound to be disappointed. Play Magazines is still pretty barebones. There's no bookmarking, highlighting, copy and pasting... basically all you can do is download an issue and read it, either as plain text or in its original layout. But hey, at least selecting which magazine to read is easier and less offensive to our aesthetic sensibilities.</p>

<p>Google's like the gift that keeps on giving. Following earlier news of a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/22/google-drive-for-android-updated/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Drive for Android</a> update, the team from Mountain View today rolled out a new version of its Chrome browser for mobile devices. This update brings <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/10/chrome-beta-adds-fullscreen-mode/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">the same features</a> we saw a little over a month ago in <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/10/google-chrome-launches-new-beta-channel-for-android/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">the Beta channel</a>, however Google's now deemed them ready for prime time. That (along with some undisclosed under-the-hood enhancements) includes the pseudo-fullscreen mode that's triggered by scrolling the page and, for tablets, the ability to view the tab history by way of the browser back button. For those who decided to skip the experimental version, you'll find the app in its stable form up for download at the Google Play link below.</p>

<p><strong>Update:</strong> Google is back with additional news about its mobile Chrome browser, this time for the iOS version. In the coming days, iPhone and iPad users will find a new version of Chrome that allows users to submit voice queries into the Omnibox. The addition will mimic the functionality of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/29/google-now-ios/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Google Search for iOS</a>, which accepts queries such as "How many miles from San Antonio to Dallas?" and "What's the weather in Rome?" Likewise, the update will introduce the ability to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/07/google-releases-code-to-integrate-chrome-with-ios-apps/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">open links in Chrome from other iOS apps</a>, along with quicker reloading of webpages from the browser cache. Hop the break for a quick peek.</p>

That now includes your documents stored on Drive, too. The Google Drive app for Android was updated today with a whole new UI that moves towards the refined Holo design of the Play Music app and displays your uploaded files as "<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/15/google-now-updated-with-reminders-real-time-public-transit-upda/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">cards</a>," though, you can always revert to a tweaked list view. The <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/15/google-hangouts-redesign/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">cards</a> offer a thumbnail preview along with the file name and an icon indicating the type of document. The ability to snap photos and have the results turned into a OCR-processed PDF has also been updated slightly. The feature is now called "<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/27/google-docs-gets-an-android-app-we-go-hands-on-with-tiny-spread/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">scan</a>" and it automatically crops photos to contain only the document you need to upload. Lastly, you can finally tweak text settings in sheets, delivering a much more robust mobile formatting experience. Just hit up the Play Store to get your update now.</p>

<p>It's not uncommon for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/16/sky-sports-for-ipad-2-0-launches-with-live-tv-streaming-f1-race/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Sky Sports iPad</a> application to receive features <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/20/more-football-content-in-sky-sports-ipad-update/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">tailored for fans</a> of the world's beautiful game, soccer (or football, if you want to get technical). <p class="image-container" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/20/flickr-update-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img alt="Flickr updates its website and Android app with a more eyepleasing interface, we go handson" data-src-height="450" data-src-width="516" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/flickrand-copy-1369090630.jpg" /></a></p>

<p>Flickr's one of the elder statesmen of the online photo sharing world, but in recent years its UI has grown a bit long in the tooth when compared to the eye candy provided by <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/20/google-plus-app-update-android-photos/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">other</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/30/facebook-improves-photo-viewing/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">kids</a> on the social sharing block. That's all changed as of today, as Marissa Mayer's team has <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/20/flickr-update/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">overhauled Flickr's look</a> on the web and in its Android app. Out goes the old layout, where text and white space commanded almost as much real estate as your photos, and in comes a tiled layout that's nothing but images.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-web-redesign-screenshots/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Flickr web redesign screenshots</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-web-redesign-screenshots/5895129?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/newflickr05-1369088962_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-web-redesign-screenshots/5895130?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/newflickr06-1369088963_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-web-redesign-screenshots/5895131?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/newflickr02-1369088964_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-web-redesign-screenshots/5895132?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/newflickr03-1369088964_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-web-redesign-screenshots/5895133?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/newflickr04-1369088965_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div> <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-for-android-version-2-0-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Flickr for Android version 2.0 screenshots</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-for-android-version-2-0-hands-on/5895181?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/flickr-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-for-android-version-2-0-hands-on/5895182?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/flickr2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-for-android-version-2-0-hands-on/5895183?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/flickr3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-for-android-version-2-0-hands-on/5895184?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/flickr4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-for-android-version-2-0-hands-on/5895185?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/flickr5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p>

<p>A formal celebration of Yahoo's acquisition of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/20/yahoo-confirms-tumblr-acquisition/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Tumblr</a> wasn't what the internet outfit had up its sleeve for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/20/yahoo-nyc-press-event-liveblog/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">this evening's festivities</a>. Instead, the company unveiled an update to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/17/yahoo-tumblr-flickr-rumor/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Flickr</a> at the NYC event with a host of new features that includes a retooled grid UI built out of images and up to 1TB of free storage for users. Yahoo is saying that the advertised storage space is enough room to stash 537,731 "full-resolution" photos per user. On the desktop side, Photostreams and Sets are cleaned up in proper grid fashion as well and a share button rests up top for easy sharing to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, email and, of course, Tumblr. Single photos will now be displayed full screen -- the size options and white background have been nixed for the extra real estate.</p>

<p>The redesign is also coming to mobile devices on iOS and Android. In fact, the Android update should be available in the Play store as early as tonight. Flickr Pro is no longer available for purchase as many of the features have been tacked on to the free account. However, it appears that current paid subscribers won't encounter any immediate changes. For those that require more space, there's a paid "doubler" option that will up the storage limit to 2TB for $500 per year and an ad-free route is priced at $50 for 12 months. Take a look at the "Biggr" photos in the video walk through on the other side of the break. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-redesign/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Flickr web and mobile app redesign</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-redesign/5895016?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/live0845-1369085806_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-redesign/5895017?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/live0841-1369085806_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-redesign/5895018?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/live0840-1369085807_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-redesign/5895019?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/live0839-1369085807_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/flickr-redesign/5895020?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/live0838-1369085807_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p>

<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/03/27/ebays-sell-it-forward/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">eBay</a> has trotted out an update to its iPhone app that sports a slew of notable changes. First, the app is draped in a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/10/ebay-unveils-redesign-deals-site/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">redesigned</a> UI that enables users to checkout multiple items at the same time, view larger photos and touts improved last-minute bidding for those <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/11/robocop-ed209-ebay/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">hot commodities</a>. The software also tacks on driver's license scanning via the handset's camera for quick registration on the go -- but only in certain states in the US, for now. If you're looking to give it a whirl, you'll need a device that wields iOS 5 or higher in order to get in on the action.</p>

<p class="image-container" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/15/google-maps-redesign/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img alt="Google Maps redesigned with improved search and tablet UI video" data-src-height="365" data-src-width="620" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/05/sf---compare-directions-1368644674.jpg" /></a></p>

<p>An errant <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/15/revamped-google-maps-sign-up-page/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">leak</a> this morning gave us a pretty good idea that Google Maps was getting revamped in time for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/15/live-from-google-i-os-2013-opening-keynote/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">I/O</a>, so this announcement comes as no surprise. Mountain View just pulled back the curtain on the next major release of Maps for desktops while offering up an advance look at the Android and iOS versions. The mobile preview takes a more personalized approach to navigation, with a rating system and offers from merchants like Starbucks. The company also announced the Experience feature for tablets, which takes a look indoors and offers up info on things like shopping, dining and hotels.</p>

<p>Google also showed off the redesigned desktop version, too. New features include "immersive imagery," and the map itself is now the user interface -- with Street View and Google Earth integration. After entering search terms, icons will appear, indicating each type of result rather than the pins of previous versions. Clicking on one will pull up reviews from friends, Street View and a "see inside" option with 360-degree viewing. The views come thanks, in part, to user-submitted photo spheres. In terms of personalization options, the map will analyze the places that you travel, highlight routes and offer suggestions based on spots that you and your friends enjoy. Maps also gathers images for a specific location and displays those snapshots via a carousel down below. A retooled directions experience now offers the option of toggling between driving and transit routes alongside a schedule viewer for factoring in transfers and walking. <p>We dug the grid-style menu system that came along with the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/03/dnp-roku-3-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Roku 3</a>, and now owners of some of the company's older players can experience it as well. The Roku 2 boxes, Roku LT, newer Roku HD and Streaming Stick are all eligible to download the new update, although it's not coming to the company's first generation boxes. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/25/roku-2-menu-update-gets-a-new-end-of-may-deadline-in-message-t/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">It's been rolling out</a> to limited numbers of users all month for testing, but tonight the company announced anyone can get it by prompting their box to manually update. All it takes is checking the update section under settings, otherwise it will be downloaded automatically at some point in the next few weeks. </p>

<p>We already <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/14/nokia-lumia-925-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">got word from Nokia</a> about some new Windows Phone features that'd be trickling out in a forthcoming update, and Microsoft has now filled in some more details on what other phone users can expect. In addition to FM radio support, an update said to be coming to Windows Phone 8 devices "later this summer" will add the previously-promised support for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/caldav/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">CalDAV and CardDAV</a> to ensure your phone will continue to work with Google's new sync protocols. Otherwise, you can look for the company's Data Sense feature to support more carriers (no word on specific ones yet, though), and also expect some minor tweaks to Xbox Music. We'll keep you posted if we hear more about a specific rollout date. </p>

<p class="p1">Airbnb's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Android,app/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Android app</a> just scored a significant refresh, including some major design tweaks and additional tools for hosts. Version 2.0 adds two features that should make it easier for property managers to interact with guests efficiently, including the ability to update calendar availability and pre-approve users from any compatible Android handset -- that latter feature hit the iOS app in December. There are also quite a few bug fixes in tow, according to the release notes -- push notifications should now be working, for example. The focus here is on host usability, however. According to a <em>TechCrunch</em> report, only five percent of hosts current use the Android app, and while these additions should streamline operation, they're unlikely to account for a major shift from the web interface.</p>

<p>The <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/hulu,android/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Hulu Plus app for Android</a> has a new update, and the most noticeable change is that its player UI to closer <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/21/hulu-web-player-ui-update/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">match the one on its website</a> and in iOS. It also brings features from those platforms like 10 second skip back and a preview thumbnail in the scrub bar. Hulu also claims it's rebuilt "for optimized awesomeness" with reduced buffering, better playback, and more device compatibility. Finally, in a move that should make plugging in your HDMI-out a little easier, it supports remote control navigation from game controllers and "similar peripherals." A picture of the new UI is above, check out the old version after the break or just hit the source link to try it out for yourself.</p>

<p>BlackBerry isn't done with improving the BlackBerry 10 editions of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/03/07/twitter-linkedin-apps-updated-for-blackberry-10/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">LinkedIn and Twitter</a> -- not by a long shot. The company has once more upgraded the two social apps, this time with an emphasis on search. LinkedIn now lets users import contacts to find people they already know; in Twitter, meanwhile, universal search now shows photos, profiles and tweets on a single page. There's more than just these two upgrades, of course. LinkedIn reveals more about companies and carries a slew of minor UI tweaks, while Twitter keeps content fresher with automatic caching. If the new versions are tempting, they're waiting at the source links for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/23/blackberry-q10-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Q10</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/30/blackberry-z10-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Z10</a> owners alike.</p>

<p>It's just been a few weeks since Netflix for iOS was suited with a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/22/netflix-updates-ios-app-episode-selector/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">novel audio menu and episode selector</a>, but the app has now already reached version 4.1. While this particular release isn't as major as, say, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/14/netflix-updates-ios-app-with-new-ipad-optimized-interface/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">v2.0</a>, some of the post-play features that have rolled out <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/15/netflix-post-play-ps3-web/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">on TV connected devices and PCs</a> are trickling down to the mobile platforms. Namely, once an episode is over, the next one starts playing automatically without any intervention required (it requires a prompt to proceed after every other episode). In the case of movies, you can expect to see a new recommended selection once the credits roll, and Netflix also promises some other more minor improvements elsewhere in the app, including under the hood tweaks to its second screen experience. Finally, Netflix also announced today that it's signed a multi-year deal for five Disney Junior and Disney XD shows: <em>Jake and the Never Land Pirates</em>, <em>Tron: Uprising</em>, <em>Handy Manny</em>, <em>Special Agent Oso</em>, and <em>JoJo's Circus</em>.</p>

<p>Google Translate's truly a wonder of modern technology, with the ability to translate <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/23/google-adds-esperanto-as-its-64th-machine-translatable-language/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><s>64</s></a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/08/google-translate-gets-five-new-languages/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">70</a> languages, whether they are written, spoken or even <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/09/google-translate-app-update-visual-translation/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">photographed</a>. Today Google's made it easier than ever to remain mono-lingual when traveling abroad by updating the Translate app for Android with Phrasebook syncing. This new feature lets users save translations of often used phrases and have access to them on any and all of their devices. Additionally, support for 16 new languages for its camera translation feature comes with the new code as well. This means that tourists traveling to Barcelona, Croatia, Slovenia and thirteen other places in Scandinavia and eastern Europe need not pester the locals for help reading street signs to get around. They can be good guests and offer to buy them a beer in their native tongue instead.</p>

<p>Google's cadre of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/30/google-glass-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Glass</a> explorers only started receiving the headgear <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/15/google-glass-explorer-editions-rolling-off-production-line-to-ship-in-waves/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">last month</a>, but the folks in Mountain View are already pushing out an update. Named XE5, the fresh software carries a raft of tweaks and new features, ranging from crash reporting to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Google/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Google+</a> notifications. Among the more notable upgrades are the ability to comment and +1 posts on the search titan's social network, alerts for incoming hangouts, improved battery life estimation and quicker transcription. One thing that may dampen spirits is a new charge to sync policy, which only allows background uploads when devices are plugged in to power sources and connected to WiFi. For the complete list of tweaks, hit the break for the changelog.</p>

<p>The Windows Phone 8 YouTube app has been woefully underutilized, acting more or less as a bookmark that redirects users to the web. No more, as the app's getting a major update today that makes it act more like a standard WP8 app -- you can pin various components right into your Live Tile set and play videos (as music) in the background, even when your phone's locked. Standards like social sharing and search are also in there, and a "new and innovative playlist design" rounds out the refresh. Perhaps the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/12/14/editorial-windows-phone-future-without-google/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Microsoft / Google relationship is mending</a>? We can't be sure, but this is certainly one step in the right direction. We've dropped the full list of new features beyond the break, and you can grab the app update for yourself <a href="http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/youtube/dcbb1ac6-a89a-df11-a490-00237de2db9e?appid=dcbb1ac6-a89a-df11-a490-00237de2db9e">right here</a>.</p>

<p>Foursquare's been rather attentive to most mobile plaforms this year, releasing updates for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/03/15/foursquare-for-android-now-greets-newcomers/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Android</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/03/16/foursquare-blackberry-10-app-updated-download/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlackBerry</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/10/foursquare-6-for-ios-shifts-the-focus-to-exploration/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">iOS</a> in 2013. The time has finally come for Microsoft users as well, as a fresh WP8-compatible version has just hit the Windows Phone app store. Version 3.0 lets users pin people and places to Start screens, provides lock screen notifications and lets folks check-in and share via NFC. Oh, and should you grow weary of using swipes and taps, the addition of speech controls allows you to search and check-in using only your voice. Should you be among the socially-inclined Microsofties, you know what to do.</p>

<p>Although more than a few runners track their progress through apps like <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/07/runkeeper-3-0-for-android-takes-on-a-holo-native-look/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">RunKeeper</a>, it's doubtful that many of them like reaching for their smartphones just to check their pace. Thanks to an updated RunKeeper app, they'll only have to look at the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/25/pebble-smartwatch-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Pebble smartwatch</a> on their wrist. Both Android and iOS users can now glance at the Bluetooth timepiece for vital stats, such as pacing, or start and stop their runs. Only a handful of us will have the needed combination of app and wristwear to justify the update at the source links, but don't despair if you're not part of the Pebble flock. RunKeeper's staff say they "look forward" to supporting wearable technology as a whole, which should let many more athletes keep their eyes on the path ahead, and their hands out of their pockets.</p>
