Logitech just announced two wireless mice and an external trackpad, all optimized to support gestures in Windows 8. Starting with the mice, the Touch Mouse T620 has the same design as the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/08/logitech-m600-mouse-ships-this-month/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">M600</a> announced earlier this year, except it supports Win 8 gestures out of the box. (The M600 will get a software update allowing it to work the same way.) Similar to its predecessor, the T620's entire top surface is touch-enabled, which means you can do things like swipe the right side for the Charm Bar, or swipe from the left to rotate through open programs. You can also double tap with one finger to return to the Start Screen, and double tap with two fingers to show the desktop.</p><p> Moving on, the Zone Touch Mouse T400 has a touch strip that you can use to move up and down through pages, as well as scroll through the live tiles on the Start Screen. In a brilliant twist, though, the touch strip itself is comprised of two buttons, which you can use to toggle open apps or bring up the Start Screen, depending on which end you press. Finally, the Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650 is a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/30/apple-magic-trackpad-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Magic Trackpad</a>-style touchpad with a spacious glass surface, which seemed impeccably responsive during our brief hands-on with it. Unlike the two mice, which run on AAs, the T650 has a rechargeable battery, which you can re-juice over USB.</p><p> All of these accessories use proprietary 2.4GHz wireless technology instead of Bluetooth, which means you'll need a free USB port to accommodate the accompanying transceiver. The dongle can pair with up to six Logitech peripherals at once, but that's a bummer if you also happen to own gear made by a Microsoft or HP. As you might have guessed, these are compatible with Windows PCs only, though you <em>could</em> use them with Win 7 if you so chose. Look for all three this month, with the Touchpad T650 priced $80, the Touch Mouse at $70 and the T400 at $50.</p>

It's with no small hint of irony, then, that Apple just received a US patent for a universal removable battery system. As proposed, the technique would let Apple cut batteries from <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/lithiumpolymer?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">lithium-polymer</a> or similar materials into commonly sized packs that could then be swapped between devices, providing all the benefits of removable, rechargeable batteries with a longer lifespan than an old set of AAs. Batteries could have serviceable cores for when they finally give up the ghost, and computers could even alternate between charging the batteries (when plugged in) or using them to extend the runtime of MacBooks. We'd recommend against basing any purchasing strategy around Apple's filing, though. The Cupertino team originally applied for the patent in 2010, and in turn broke out the technology from a patent it had filed in 2007 -- there's no guarantees Apple is still interested in replacing those disposables, let alone any sealed-in batteries. That won't stop us from yearning for the day when a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/20/new-imac-and-magic-mouse-unboxing-and-quick-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Magic Mouse</a> lasts for more than a week of heavy use.</p>

The highlight is the inaugural SteelSeries cordless offering, aptly named the World of Warcraft wireless mouse, which sports a themed skin and glowing white runes and logo on the palmrest (at least that's the plan, the prototype unit we saw didn't light up). Similarly, the charging base is studded in true Azeroth style and ringed in blue runes to let you know when it's powered up, plus it can be connected to your computer via microUSB if you want to play and charge simultaneously. It's PC and Mac compatible, comes with 11 programmable buttons, and once you've given it 60 minutes to fill its tank, you'll get up to 16 hours of continuous, intensive game play. It's set for a release in the latter half of this year and will cost $129.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-world-of-warcraft-wireless-mouse-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">SteelSeries World of Warcraft wireless mouse hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-world-of-warcraft-wireless-mouse-hands-on/5074128?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/06/dsc02299_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-world-of-warcraft-wireless-mouse-hands-on/5074130?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/06/dsc02300_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-world-of-warcraft-wireless-mouse-hands-on/5074131?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/06/dsc02301_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-world-of-warcraft-wireless-mouse-hands-on/5074133?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/06/dsc02302_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-world-of-warcraft-wireless-mouse-hands-on/5074134?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/06/dsc02303_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p><p> Along with the WoW model, we also got to see the gunmetal grey <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/03/steelseries-sensei-major-league-gaming-edition/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">MLG edition Sensei</a> and a pair of special-edition <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/10/steelseries-drops-a-bag-of-ces-goodies-two-headsets-three-mice/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Kana</a> mice -- for <em>Dota 2</em> and <em>CounterStrike: Global Offensive</em> -- each uniquely skinned in the style of their namesake games. To go along with the CS:GO rodent, there's an accompanying headset (a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/18/steelseries-takes-another-stab-at-gaming-headsets-with-siberia-v/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Siberia v2</a> with a camo paint job) as well. Rounding things out is a <em>GuildWars 2</em> branded headset and Sensei mouse. The stereo headset is the on-ear variety, and its flexible white frame can be folded down during travel. A 3.5mm input resides at the base of each earcup, and the open jack can be used to connect another set of headphones to share your audio with a friend. The headset's priced at $100, while the mouse will retail for $70 and will land on store shelves when <em>Guildwars 2 </em>is released.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-guildwars-2-headset-and-dota-2-cs-go-and-mlg-gaming-mice-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">SteelSeries GuildWars 2 headset and Dota 2, CS GO and MLG Gaming mice hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-guildwars-2-headset-and-dota-2-cs-go-and-mlg-gaming-mice-hands-on/5074447?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/06/dsc02314_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-guildwars-2-headset-and-dota-2-cs-go-and-mlg-gaming-mice-hands-on/5074448?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/06/dsc02315_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-guildwars-2-headset-and-dota-2-cs-go-and-mlg-gaming-mice-hands-on/5074449?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/06/dsc02317_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-guildwars-2-headset-and-dota-2-cs-go-and-mlg-gaming-mice-hands-on/5074450?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/06/dsc02318_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/steelseries-guildwars-2-headset-and-dota-2-cs-go-and-mlg-gaming-mice-hands-on/5074451?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/06/dsc02319_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p>

The Genius Ring Air Mouse has tiptoed through the FCC with a dapper new fa&ccedil;ade and sporting both air cursor and scroll modes. In addition to the left and right clickers <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/13/ring-mouse-available-for-70-just-in-time-for-your-nerd-wedding/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">we've seen before</a>, this model adds a drag control for moving objects with ease and a back button for web surfing. As you might expect, the device is charged via USB connection and a LED indicator will keep you up to speed on the battery's status. We can't recommend you offer this as a gift to your significant other, though, at least not for any <em>special</em> occasion.

If you've been mid-presentation and longed for a presenter over an optical mouse, you're about to get another option. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/logitech/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Logitech</a> has just announced the Cube, a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/wireless+mouse/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">wireless mouse</a> / presenter hybrid in the same small package. As a mouse, the Cube scrolls via swipe gestures across the main panel via the company's Flow Scroll software with performance similar to scrolling on your touchscreen smartphone of choice. To engage presenter mode, all you'll have to do is pick the device up off your desk and the switch is made for you. The pocket-sized accessory connects to your PC using a diminutive Logitech Unifying receiver with 2.4GHz connectivity. Looking to take one for a spin? You'll be able to pick one up this month for $69.99. For now, hit the full PR after the break or scope out the two color options in the gallery below.<br />

We've seen plenty of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/27/asus-gets-in-on-the-touch-mouse-craze-with-the-puck-shaped-wx-dl/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">round mice</a>, including Apple's infamous puck, and many devices that derive power from a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/26/iyo-yoyo-induction-charger-lets-you-enjoy-your-tunes-sans-ac/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">yo-yo-like</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/26/iyo-yoyo-induction-charger-lets-you-enjoy-your-tunes-sans-ac/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">pull string</a> mechanism. So we're not quite sure why we've never seen those two concepts married before. In retrospect, a wireless mouse charged by the kinetic energy of using it as a yo-yo seems like a painfully obvious idea. As an added bonus, this tiny pointer with an LCD battery gauge makes you get up every so often and get your limbs moving -- thus saving you from chromic back pain. Huzzah! Of course, there's no guarantee you'll ever actually see one of these on shelves. Check out the source for a few more pics.

That is the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/logitech?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Logitech</a> M525 wireless mouse, a rather unassuming hunk of plastic and rubber with a scroll wheel that also tilts for navigating pages both horizontally and vertically. Sure, you get your choice of white or black, for what that's worth, but probably the most distinguishing feature is the battery life. This &pound;35 ($40) pointer gets up to three years on a single pair of AAs. In the states you get a few more color options, including green and blue, and all versions use Logitech's proprietary wireless connection, which lets you connect up to six devices to a single tiny dongle. The M525 is available now in the US and should be available in the UK before the month is out. Check out the PR after the break.

Alas, there are still no plans on an international release for this 10.1-inch <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/z670?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Atom Z670</a>-powered device, but at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/ceatec+2011?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">CEATEC</a> we were lucky enough to stumble upon it along with its DVD dock and wireless input peripherals -- all included for &yen;99,960 ($1,300), which is a <em>huge</em> drop from the original &yen;144,000 ($1,873) customizable bundle.<br />
<br />
Despite the slightly more sensible pricing, is the LaVie Touch still worth the money? Probably a stretch given the much cheaper offerings from the likes of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/11/acers-windows-powered-iconia-w500-up-for-pre-order-for-549-sh/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Acer</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/05/samsung-sliding-pc-7-series-announced/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Samsung</a>, but regardless, kudos to NEC for keeping its tablet's weight just under 730g (1.6 pounds) while promising 10.6 hours of battery life. For comparison's sake, the Acer Iconia W500 weighs 970g (2.14 pounds) and only packs up to six hours worth of battery juice. The NEC tablet felt firm in our hands and its IPS LCD didn't disappoint, though Windows 7 on this particular unit was slightly laggy during our hands-on, so be sure to check it out in the stores first before you hand over your hard-earned yen.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update: </strong>We just found out that Yodobashi Camera has just started selling the LaVie Touch, so we went along to Akihabara to check out the final product. Alas, Windows 7 was still sluggish, whereas the AMD C-50-powered Iconia W500 in the next aisle handled pinch-to-zoom rather well, despite the less impressive LCD.<br />

The last time we saw Ben Wu, he was busy hammering away at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/12/quantum-phantom-prototype-lets-you-control-your-computer-screen/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Quantum Phantom</a> -- a prototype program that allows users to manipulate their desktops with a simple webcam. Now, the engineer has expanded the concept to smartphones, as well, with a system that effectively turns any camera-equipped handset into a wireless mouse. To achieve this, Wu hooked up his Android phone to his PC via WiFi and used the IP Webcam app to create a video stream server. The results, by Wu's own admission, aren't exactly elegant (due to an unwieldy configuration process and low-res camera), though he still managed to use his creation to sketch an onscreen smiley face. Watch it for yourself in the demo video, after the break.<br />
<br />
[Thanks, Ben]

It's already been rather <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/10/microsoft-explorer-touch-mouse-quietly-revealed-touts-bluetrack/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">unceremoniously leaked</a>, but now the Microsoft Explorer Touch Mouse is all sorts of official. Granted, it's kinda tough to get excited about a mouse, but Redmond's latest pointer is actually pretty neat. It sports <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/bluetrack?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BlueTrack Technology</a> for getting your double click on while using your jeans or carpet as a mouse pad, and a haptic scroll strip that lets you feel the speed at which you're flicking through the web. Oh, and that strip lets you scroll both horizontally and vertically -- not bad for $49.95. Microsoft even claims it can last 18-months on a single set of batteries, just long enough to forget this wireless mouse even has a set of DC cells inside. Check out the extraordinarily brief PR after the break and keep those purchasing fingers holstered for now -- this bad boy wont be hitting shelves till September.

These fully-functional wireless Rotobot mice from designer Aaron Ristau will make you look seriously cultivated when people drop by your apartment. In our eyes, that means they officially join the esteemed ranks of typewriter-themed <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/27/typewriter-parts-used-to-construct-model-deer-give-small-childr/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Works of Art</a>, but unfortunately it also means they cost $180 -- which might be hard to stomach when you realize that each one is just a non-ergonomically modded $25 Logitech M305. Hey-ho, everybody needs at least one peripheral to be their geeky equivalent to good cutlery. And no, that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/09/forza-motorsport-csr-and-csr-elite-wheel-and-pedals-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">CSR Elite</a> in the cupboard doesn't count.

Microsoft's new wireless keyboard-and-mouse duo aims to thwart keystroke spies with full AES 128-bit encryption on over-the-air data -- an improvement on older wireless models that have proven to be easy pickings for hacker-types. You can pick up the Wireless Desktop 2000 now for $40, but that won't buy you protection from more common threats like <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/02/google-admits-sensitive-email-accounts-have-been-hacked-some-us/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Shandong phishmongers</a>, nor will it make up for security loopholes in your other peripherals. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/gigabyte?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Gigabyte's</a> ECO600 wireless laser mouse -- which was introduced last month -- just landed at the FCC, which means it and its tiny 2.4GHz adapter should be in the hands of consumers very soon. As far as mice go, the ECO600 is actually pretty interesting -- two buttons on top allow you to quickly cycle between resolutions of 800, 1200, and 1600 DPI for either more accuracy or better battery life which, the company claims, is up to a year on a single pair of (generously included) AAs. That's not quite as long as <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/21/logitech-wireless-mouse-m515-works-on-sofas-for-up-two-years-wit/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Logitech's M515</a>, which requires you swap the cells biennially, but it's still nothing to scoff at. <div>
	Sure, Ring Mouse sounds like something you might catch from an out-of-control rodent population while on vacation in a foreign country. And yes, we'll admit that that the whole concept sounds a bit awkward to those who have spent their entire computing lives using more input devices, but we've heard some <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/08/genius-ring-mouse-slips-around-your-finger-cues-up-beyonce-jams/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">compelling feedback</a> from those who've actually tried Genius's wearable wireless peripheral, and it turns out the thing is actually usable. Now you can get in on that action, seeing as how the company just announced North American availability for the wireless peripheral. For $70, you can get your hands on -- or, rather, <em>in</em> -- one of these things, if you're a Windows user. Of course, you could use it for an engagement ring; just plan on being single for a very long time.</div>

Peanut butter and jelly. Gin and tonic. Peaches and cream. Some strange combinations make perfect sense paired, but how about the mouse and the PC gamepad? Those two items are what a Hong Kong peripheral manufacturer decided to combine, and the result was the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/12/10/shogun-bros-chameleon-x-1-mouse-flaunts-its-hidden-gamepad/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Shogun Bros. Chameleon X-1</a> -- a gaming mouse you can flip to find twelve buttons and two miniature analog sticks on the bottom. It works as a gamepad, sure enough, and functions as a one-handed multimedia remote too. But is it any good? We've used it as our primary peripheral for over a week, and after the break, we'll tell you. <br />
<br />
<strong>Update: </strong>Shogun Bros. tells us our review unit shipped with a partially charged battery, and we'll be testing battery life again (with a fresh cell) as a result.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update 2: </strong>Our testing is complete, and we found the X-1 lasted about two weeks with a fresh battery inside -- not bad, but not great either. Still, we've bumped the mouse's score one point as a result. <br />

Sure, lots of mice, ok, <em>most</em> mice can be coddled to work on fabric. But it takes a company with a dedicated mousing portfolio the size of Logitech's to design a mouse <em>specifically</em> for use on the sofa. See, the Logitech Wireless Mouse M515 features a sealed bottom case that lets you mouse around on soft surfaces without snagging. That means it won't collect bits of fuzz around the sensor when dragging it across the couch, bed, or a trouser-clad thigh. Naturally, it can also be used on more traditional computing surfaces, too. The M515 boasts up to two-years of battery life thanks, in part, to a hand-detection sensor that causes the mouse to sleep anytime it's not being held. Rounding out the list of features is Logitech's Hyper-Fast scrolling wheel and Unifying USB micro receiver required for the laptop or home theater PC you wish to control. Look for the M515 to ship to Europe in April for &pound;49.99 -- that's about $80 converted, but you'll likely find it for a lot less whenever it hits US retail.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update: </strong>It's available in the US right now for $50 at our more coverage link.

How's about a flattened version, sans Bluetooth? That's exactly what we're being presented with here, as Sanwa's MA-TOUCH1 looks like the lovechild of Apple's own multitouch critter and Logitech's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/04/logitechs-usb-unifying-receiver-one-dongle-to-serve-multiple-i/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">M505</a>. In truth, the only real design cue this guy snags from the Logi is its Unifying Receiver, signifying that it relies on wireless USB rather than BT. The design scheme is definitely of interest -- rather than being curved to fit the shape of a relaxed palm, it's totally flat up top, supporting four-direction scrolling and two-finger swipes. She's on sale now in four different colors (red, white, black and silver), with &yen;4,300 ($52) standing between you and something you may or may not ever actually use to control your cursor.

Not so keen on plopping down a Benjamin for Movea's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/24/moveas-gyration-air-mouse-works-on-land-and-air-not-sea/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Air Mouse</a>? A full two years after the introduction of that very product, there's now an acceptable, bargain-bin alternative: the Air Mouse. Er, the Air Mouse <i>app</i> for iPod touch / iPhone. This here nugget of code, which is selling for just $1.99 in the App Store, taps into your iDevice's inbuilt gyroscopes as well as the company's own MotionSense technology in order to convert your handheld into a mouse. No need to fish for a surface, though -- simply wave your iPhone around in order to take advantage of in-air cursor control and gesture recognition. It's a dream come true for HTPC owners (Macs and PCs are supported), though critics are suggesting that Mobile Mouse may actually be superior. If you've already parted ways with your buck-ninety-nine, let us know how things are panning out in comments below.

Pity the poor fools who show up to the next LAN party with a mouse that doesn't have a capacitive top. These days it's touch-sensitivity or bust, and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/asus?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">ASUS</a> is latest in line, launching its WX-DL. This one takes its buttonless inspiration from the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/magicmouse?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Magic Mouse</a> but its design from another Cupertino creation: the puck-shape Apple USB Mouse. That rodent came with the 1998 <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/imac?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">iMac</a> and was basically hated by everyone who placed a hand on it. It remains to be seen whether the slight tilt of this one (shown after the break) will make it more palatable to the digits of computer users everywhere, but it is at least suitably equipped with a 1200dpi laser sensor, 2.4GHz wireless connection, and a suite of media controls baked with care into the top of this aluminum cookie. Its yours for $80, so who wants to take a bite?

Honestly, while Apple's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/MagicMouse/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Magic Mouse</a> is a bit of a pioneer in its application of a multitouch surface on a "regular" tracking mouse, it's not exactly easy or comfortable to perform multitouch gestures with it. Plus there's the little problem of no official driver for Windows. Speedlink's Cue mouse looks to be solving at least one of those problems, maybe even both. The wireless 1000 dpi optical mouse is naturally PC-compatible, with software to allow you to configure your own gestures, and it has a somewhat flatter and more extensive touch surface than the Magic Mouse, which might make gestures a bit more doable. Basically, it's somewhere in between the Magic Mouse and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/MagicTrackpad/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Magic Trackpad</a>, minus the hyperbole, and plus clear demarcation of right and left click. It'll retail for &euro;40 when it ships in November (about $56 USD).

In a world full of the shapely blobs we call computer mice, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/CyborgRat/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Cyborg Rat</a> stands out. It's skeletal, metallic, and almost completely asymmetrical. Though most mice are one-size-fit-few, the Rat lets you transform the hardware itself to fit the shape of your hand. It's got two scroll wheels and a special button that lowers DPI while it's held -- and this new Rat 9, due out November, is completely wireless as well. Whereas <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/22/razer-mamba-wired-wireless-gaming-mouse-impressions/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Razer</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/10/microsoft-sidewinder-x8-gaming-mouse-gets-official-examined/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Microsoft</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/05/logitech-g700-mouse-and-g930-headset-review/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Logitech</a> all built their premium wireless gaming mice from scratch -- and with cord-based charging in mind -- the Rat 9 instead integrates a hot-swappable battery pack and a 2.4GHz radio into the same modular design. Is it a half-baked attempt at wireless bliss, or do we have a new king of mice? Find out after the break in our full review. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/mad-catz-cyborg-rat-9-unboxing-and-hands-on/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Mad Catz Cyborg Rat 9 unboxing and hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/mad-catz-cyborg-rat-9-unboxing-and-hands-on/3490103?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/10/10-20-10-rat9800001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/mad-catz-cyborg-rat-9-unboxing-and-hands-on/3490104?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/10/10-20-10-rat9800002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/mad-catz-cyborg-rat-9-unboxing-and-hands-on/3490105?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/10/10-20-10-rat9800003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/mad-catz-cyborg-rat-9-unboxing-and-hands-on/3490106?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/10/10-20-10-rat9800004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/mad-catz-cyborg-rat-9-unboxing-and-hands-on/3490107?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/10/10-20-10-rat9800005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div>

While our eye-hand clicking capabilities are usually relegated to "upload image" and "RT" and the occasional "ban commenter," that doesn't stop us from dreaming of a world where we're an elite vid-gamer (that's "video gamer" to any n00bs out there), an entire virtual world at our beck and call. Razer can help us live that dream with its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/naga?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Naga MMO mouse</a>, which has a wild assortment of numbered buttons on its side to be theoretically assigned to those high-powered abilities we've theoretically invested countless hours into obtaining -- or theoretically paid a good price to a gold farmer for. Now Razer has a wireless version of the 5600 dpi laser mouse, using the same wired / wireless tech of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/22/razer-mamba-wired-wireless-gaming-mouse-impressions/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Razer Mamba</a> (which is nice for when a theoretical gaming session stretches beyond the 12 hour continuous use mark the mouse is rated for) to let you plug in at will. There's also a charging dock that conveniently doubles as the 2.4GHz wireless base station. "That's great, Razer," you might say, "but what will I put this mouse on top of?" They're glad you asked. Razer is simultaneously launching a new ultrasmooth mousepad dubbed "Ironclad," built out of a single piece of aluminum. The pad will retail for $60 this month, with the mouse following for $130 in November. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-debuts-wireless-naga-mmo-mouse-ironclad-mousepad/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Razer debuts wireless Naga MMO mouse, Ironclad mousepad</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-debuts-wireless-naga-mmo-mouse-ironclad-mousepad/3464640?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/10/razer-ironclad-04-gal_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-debuts-wireless-naga-mmo-mouse-ironclad-mousepad/3464642?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/10/razer-ironclad-03-gal_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-debuts-wireless-naga-mmo-mouse-ironclad-mousepad/3464643?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/10/razer-ironclad-02-gal_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-debuts-wireless-naga-mmo-mouse-ironclad-mousepad/3464644?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/10/razer-ironclad-01-gal_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/razer-debuts-wireless-naga-mmo-mouse-ironclad-mousepad/3464645?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/10/razer-naga-08-gal_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div>
