<div style="text-align: left;">Researchers at the University at Buffalo have announced they've found a way to remotely control worms using magnetic nanoparticles attached to cell membranes, and say they can cause the worms to stop moving simply by exposing the particles to a magnetic field and heating them up. This, they say, could lead to a host of medical benefits -- but if <em>The X-Files</em> has taught us anything, it's that remote-controlled <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/nanotechnology">nanotechnology</a> can also fall into the wrong hands, and make people stop moving.</div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/09/researchers-remotely-control-worms-using-magnetic-nanoparticles/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Researchers remotely control worms using magnetic nanoparticles, tomorrow: people?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/09/researchers-remotely-control-worms-using-magnetic-nanoparticles/">Researchers remotely control worms using magnetic nanoparticles, tomorrow: people?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 09 Jul 2010 11:54:00 EST. Fox Home Entertainment has announced that its very first BD-Live enhanced film will be <em>The X-Files: I Want To Believe</em>, which will take advantage of the web-connected functionality with "exclusive features, games, additional content and connectivity to other BD-Live users and X-Files fans nationwide." The <em>X-Files Dossier</em> will allow users to "create their own Special Agent avatar that can browse through Agent Dakota Whitney's case files on clairvoyance and post their own notes and theories to her files online and download other profiles directly to their BD player memory files." Fun, right? Make your choice on 12/2 when it hits shelves (with Digital Copy, no less) for $39.99 MSRP.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/blu-ray/" rel="tag">Blu-ray</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/fox/" rel="tag">Fox</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/20/x-files-i-want-to-believe-is-foxs-first-bd-live-title/">X-Files: I Want To Believe is Fox's first BD-Live title</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 20 Sep 2008 04:01:00 EST. <em>We want to believe </em>it's not the latter. Okay, this is (hopefully) the last one of these <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/29/limited-edition-90210-ipod-nano-surfaces-we-hardly-believe-its/">Fox-branded iPods</a> we do, we just thought it would be funny, you know, because the movie did so badly and... stuff. Yeah, on second thought, not very funny.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.tuaw.com/2008/08/14/fox-releases-x-files-branded-ipods/">TUAW</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/14/x-files-ipods-misplaced-merchandising-or-desperate-bid-for-pro/">X-Files iPods: misplaced merchandising, or desperate bid for profitability?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 14 Aug 2008 20:53:00 EST.
